Thanks for the help. This was the first of a romance series that includes recipes.

The main character is engaged to her reliable but boring fiance, and by the end of the book leaves him at the altar, maybe...but the next book will reveal if she leaves him and does she fall for a new exciting fellow.

The recipes are for sweets that are titled after whatever crisis is going on...

Had been reading Scumble River Series, among many others of this genre.
