(kid fantasy?) book with a girl who has a (white?) wolf that gets torn in half towards end but healed

Hi! I'm looking for a book I read in third grade that I got from B&N. I only vaguely remember one scene towards the end where this girl, some of her friends (also girls I think), and her wolf were fighting a monster that tore the wolf in half (or at least wounded it). The wolf was somehow healed soon after the fight. It should be fantasy type cause monsters? Magic healing? I just want to find it cause it's been a memory that's been with me forever but I don't know from what context! Thank you!
