I got to Ch10 this morning! Woah!! This just starts off with a bang. I don't see myself not binge reading this book.

#1 reason I NEVER read book descriptions. I go by recommendation and genre alone. Too mamy times the key plot point is on the flap or on the back.

I agree, and only slightly less (view spoiler)[ with Smithback and Nora are in there as well. All are such good, original, and not over-the-top characters that you can latch onto and root for easily. (hide spoiler)]

Yeah - this whole book is batshit crazy! I really do think it is my favorite after Cabinet of Curiosities (well, as a follow up to the last book, probably made it look a lot better to me). Also, it returns to the feel of the early books.

I know! I kept expecting everything to fall apart in that chapter. I was surprised (view spoiler)[ they all made it out ok. I expect that something is going to start happening to those that were there, especially the animal control guy, and possibly Pendergast's friend. I want to be cynical like you're being, but so far, I'm believing in the zombies, lol! I don't see how they're going to explain Smithback coming back after the stab to the heart and the autopsy where his organs were taken out. The Obeah must be real! (hide spoiler)]
