Marie | 713 comments I have challenge planning withdrawal, so I decided to see how many of my already chosen ATY 2018 books I could fit into the Popsugar prompts, just for fun. Turned out to be quite a lot, probably some of the ones I've not read yet will turn out to fit too and I might have time to add in a few side reads to finish off the list. It's easy to feel ambitious in March!

I know it might seem like a cop out to choose my own country for this, but I've thought about it a lot and I think Britain is probably the country that fascinates me the most, there's so much to know about it, the more I learn the more I want to know and it being the place I'm from just intensifies that.

ATY prompt: A book written in the first person perspective

A bestseller from the year you graduated high school
Something Under the Bed is Drooling by Bill Watterson
Side read

A cyberpunk book
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
Side read

A book that was being read by a stranger in a public place
It by Stephen King (I've hardly seen anyone reading in public, but when they do they unhelpfully don't hold the cover up high enough for me to see it. I saw one person reading Dune, and sat next to someone on a plane who was reading a massive book that when I asked also turned out to be Dune. I'm not attempting that one again Fate, I don't care how hard you push. So I resorted to Subway Book Review on instagram, and someone called Aaron was reading IT at a deliberate rate of 10 pages per day)

Meredith | 1 comments Nice, Marie! I actually did the reverse, starting with PopSugar and making the ATW prompts fit. It’s been fun! I may share the overlap list here. :)

message 3: by Marie (new)

Marie | 713 comments You should definitely share the overlap list.

This is great! I'm surprised at how much overlap there is!

For the "Set in a country that fascinates you", you could use the ATY prompt "Country you've never been to"!

message 5: by Marie (new)

Marie | 713 comments I already used my "Country you've never been to" for "Song lyrics". That's a harder category to fill, so I'll probably have to leave it there.

That prompt has made me think a lot about what "fascinates you" means though. I think I could go for the US or UK for it, even though it feels like cheating, they must fascinate me since I continually choose to read about them so much!
