Also how is the Sea Queen have tentacles and Lira's mother? I don't understand the genetics hahaha. Also I'm betting this girl Elian rescued is actually Lira. I'm enjoying this story, but it doesn't feel very romance-y which I'm fine with! i would be totally happy if Lira and Elian walk away from this whole adventure as friends and allies. I honestly didn’t expect Elian and Lira to first meet like that. I thought they first met when Lira was turned human and stuff. I really like both Lira and Elian, they’re so interesting, especially Elian. And I really love Elian’s family so far! I know that they don’t want him to be a pirate, which isn’t great, but they seem to genuinely care for him! Amd his crew is so great too!

And woah, I didn’t expect Elian to make that proposal to Sakura. I also liked when she said that she wouldn’t turn on her brothers for the crown. It’s nice to see some family bonds. (hide spoiler)]

I’m reeling. This was so, so good, and I wish there were a hundred more books with Elian, Lira, and the crew. I love Lira so much, and I think I applauded every time she did anything lol. I love Elian just as much because he’s just so amazing and I adored his and Lira’s hilarious conversations. And the best thing was that they were actually smart, and thought things through for the most part! And the romance was so limited and it happened near the end, which made it perfect because we actually got a plot! And an amazing set of characters to go with it!! I just all around adore this book to pieces. (hide spoiler)]
