Ilsa (eruaistaniel) Liesel appeared the first day, bright and early, coming down to practice killing. She was a little uncomfortable with it, but she knew that a good home waited for her at the end if she just tried.

Alexa walked into the Training Center, a sly smile on her face. This was like Heaven for her. All these weapons and training supplies, they made her giddy. She ignored the girl that was already there and made her way straight to the weapons. She scanned a knives rack. There were long daggers, small throwing knives, anything. She picked up three throwing daggers and tested them in her hands for weight.

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) "Hi! I'm Liesel Meminger," she said, walking right over. "Can you teach me?"

Mel came in ready to meet her fellow careers.

Alexa's mouth curved into what seemed to be a smile. "Sure, Liesel. Why not? I'm Alexa, by the way." She may as well play nice and sweet for now, just to get on good terms with the competition.

Mel joined the weaponry people, "What districts are you two?" She grabbed a spear, balancing it in her hands, weighing it.

message 8: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) "I'm district ten," she said, "I'm very fast... but I've never really used a weapon..."

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

"District 2. I'll be part of the careers." She threw the spear, hitting the target.

message 10: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) "Wow... Can you teach me that?"

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

"You throw it. Why would I teach competition?"

message 12: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) "Because... I need teaching?" she said, trying to be endearing. She threw a spear, pretty well, because she copied her. It hit the target, at least.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Mel had to admit she was pretty impressed, "And you claimed you never had experience with weapons."

message 14: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) "Never in my life," she said, nodding.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

"Well, you've got potential, but, I've got the brains."

message 16: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) Her smile thinned only slightly. She'd read loads of books, but... She only wished she could apply the technique through practice.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

"Practice and you might make the alliance. MAybe."

message 18: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) "Great! I plan to eat, drink, and live training... so... will you teach me?"

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

"Depends on when the other careers show up."

message 20: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) "You could train me until then, maybe?"

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

"And risk you killing me later?"

message 22: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) "I could promise to let someone else kill you?"

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

"What are you gonna give me to make sure you dont?"

message 24: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) "My solemn oath?" She frowned, worried. She didn't have anything but her book, and she didn't want anyone to read what she'd written til it was done.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

"What about...your token," she sneered.

message 26: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) "It's- It's not finished," Liesel said, her hand hovering over her pocket, where the book was stashed. "It needs more work..."

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

"Ya, and so does my life."

message 28: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) She hesitantly brought out the ancient 'Mein Kamph', which had the pages whited out, with new, childish scrawling over the pages.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

Mel Snatched it and shoved it in her pocket. "You'll get back once the games begin. Now throw it a little bit down."

message 30: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) She nodded. She needed training to survive, anyhow. She followed Mel's advice.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

"Good. Now repeat 50 times. Practice makes perfect."

message 32: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) She obediently repeated over and over.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

Mel did as well.

message 34: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) Her arm got tired, but she refused to rest. She wouldn't have that chance in the arena.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Mel's endurance was incredible.

message 36: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) She forced herself to match Mel's pace.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

Mel nodded once they reached 50. "Now for knives."

message 38: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) "Okay," she agreed, rubbing her arm. "How do you get it to hit with the blade instead of the handle?"

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

"For the knives?"

message 40: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) She nodded. "Rudy let me throw his sometimes..."

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Hold it on the blade and flick.

message 42: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) She did so, actually getting favorable results.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

"Good job. Repeat 50 times." Claire did the same, wanting the practice herself.

message 44: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) By the time she finished, her arms felt like falling off.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

Mel shrugged, "Hand to hand combat or swordplay?"

message 46: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) "Hand to hand, then swords?" she asked, rolling her shoulders.

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

"Sure. You have any expirience hand to hand?" she said, leading over to the mat.

message 48: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) "I've been in school fights..."

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

"Same concept, kinda. Just fewer rules."

message 50: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) "What rules?" she chuckled.
