Summer is over, and the temperatures are slowly cooling down, soon it will be time to snuggle in and turn to comfort reading. When I retreat to comfort reading I turn to my collection of childhood classics. Among this collection is ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and the sequel ‘Through the Looking Glass’. I always thought it a lovely idea to be able to go down a rabbit hole, or through a looking glass and escape the cares of the world and have a magical adventure in a Wonderland.

So this month, April, I am offering you all a chance to start to slow down and create your own wonderland adventure in a wonderland. Unlike Alice though – you will be able to pick which characters you want to spend time with.

You can choose to spend time with 3, 6 or 9 characters – reading a book for each one you spend time with and, of course, including Australian authors in your choices.

3 Characters = 3 Books (1 must be by an Australian author)
6 Characters = 6 Books (2 must be by Australian authors)
9 Characters = 9 Books (3 must be by Australian authors)

DON'T FORGET

1. Our guidelines HERE

2. Please include pictures of the book covers especially when the task requires something to be on the cover - for example if you pick the task with arms or legs showing on the cover - we need to see those covers as we don't have time to click on each link to go and check :)

3. If a character has to do something - don't forget to write the sentence where they do it e.g. - Read a book where someone sews something - Feels Like Home by Lisa Ireland – pg 92 – it didn’t take Jo long to stitch the button back on

CHARACTER LIST – pick from these:

Cheshire Cat
Read a book with a cat on the cover
OR
Read a book with a smile on the cover

White Rabbit
Read a book that has a clock or watch on the front cover
OR
Read a book were you can see an ear, or ears, on the cover

Mad Hatter

OR
Read a book that has a hat on the cover.

March Hare
Read a book that was published in March of ANY year or has a 3 in the page number
OR
Read a book that has all of the letters of the word MARCH in the title in any order.
eg Four Respectable Ladies Seek Part Time Husband has an M, an A, an R, a C and an H all in the title.

Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum
Read a book that has 2 or more people on the cover
OR
Read a book that is #2 in a series

Kylie (kyliemaree) | 878 comments AR April 2018 Challenge - April in Wonderland
Duration: 01/04/2018 - 30/04/2018
Easy Level: 3 characters (3 books), and a minimum of one AA author.

Progress: 3/3 - COMPLETED (Just...)

At this stage, going for 3 characters, but may aim for the next level depending on how quickly I get through the 3. I normally wouldn't even attempt the medium level for a monthly challenge... but I will have school holidays to get a little extra reading done. As usual, I'm finding the hardest part of the challenge selecting which books to use to complete this very creative challenge!

March Hare

Read a book that has all of the letters of the word MARCH in the title in any order.

Heartaches and Christmas Cakes by Amy Miller Completed 11/04 - 5 stars.

Mock Turtle

Read a book where a character cries.

The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton AA. Completed 30/04 - 5 stars.

Duchess

Read a book with a character who is a mother with child.

Mackenzie Crossing by Kaye Dobbie AA. Completed 09/04 - 5 stars.

That's alright :) I saw what you'd done - the book was second, the author you put there was first! Easy done (when you're past your bedtime ;) ) LOL!
