Electricity lost, teenage Boy flies plane; his mother heads police security force, father is out of the country

I am looking for a book I read in 2015. The book is about a teenage boy and what he overcomes when the world is somewhat ending (theres no electricity). He fly's a plane that his dad got him, but his dad is in different country while the world loses control.

I remember that the boy has a friend who is his neighbour and he is an old man who worked as a police officer. During the book the boy and his family are trying to protect their neighbourhood from other neighbourhoods. A lot of neighbourhoods get bombed by the city where there are many planes and equipment. The boy also likes a girl in the book and the girls parents own a farm. In the book, they build farms on the school to grow food, build a fence around the neighbourhood and have security, which is the police force, lead by the main characters mother.

There is also a sequel and another broke after that, I think.
