Nominations for our April group read are now open!

The them is Children's Books

Criteria:
1. Book must be by a female author (transwomen and women using male pseudonyms are women)
2. No books that have already been group reads (see our list of previous reads)
3. You cannot nominate your own book.
4. Must be a children's book.

How to Nominate:
1. Give both the title of the book and the author's name when nominating to avoid mix-ups. Title only nominations may be missed
2. Please use the 'add book/author' button when nominating - otherwise it becomes hard to distinguish and in a long thread your nomination may be missed.
3. Try to avoid using this thread for chatter as it makes it very hard to locate what are actual nominations and what is just discussion.
5. One nomination per person.

Nominations are open until the 23rd, when the poll will go up

Nominations so far:
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
Cuckoo Song by Frances Hardinge
The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne M. Valente
The Moomins and the Great Flood by Tove Jansson

No need to second. Nominations only. All nominations will go through to the poll, when you will be able to vote for them.

I think it might be one of those books that's slightly in-between? It's certainly published by Macmillan Children's Books, and the main character is 11 so still a child rather than a teen.

I think it..."

That's good enough for me!

@Kristin - I generally see Little Women categorised as children so no need to change nominations - especially as I was literally just about to post my own nomination for The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland!

So yeah:

The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne M. Valente
