Serious (not romance) novel about an American woman married to a French man

I honestly cannot remember a single thing about the plot or when I read this book, I just remember a female character who uprooted her life to move to Paris with a French husband and he's kind of a jerk and she doesn't really even like him anymore. Takes place in modern day. Vaguely remember some talk of him thinking he's better than her but that's it! That's all I can remember. Does this sound remotely familiar to anyone else?
