Carol | 2 comments I read this book about 15 years ago and it was newish at the time. It was a non fiction book in 2 parts. The first part told the true story of an American mansion and the disappearance of the lady of the house set around 1900's or, I think she had just recently given birth to a still born (??). The second part told of students who went to the house and did paranormal studies. I vaguely remember that Stephen King may have been involved. I'm pretty sure that the cover had a print of the mansion and there were photos inside.

I added some details to your header to make it more specific.

Peter Meilinger | 474 comments Sounds like The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer: My Life at Rose Red, which was presented as non-fiction but was based on the Stephen King mini-series "Rose Red." The mini-series was pretty darn creepy, and my wife liked the book, too.
