Additional Note for Round 4:

CONGRATULATIONS, CluckingBell, for unlocking Round 4!

Round 4 is a little different from the other rounds BUT all the books will come directly from your own TBR

1. Follow steps 1-4 below to get your book lists:

Step 1. Go to your 'want-to-read' shelf and at the bottom of the page, set to show only 10 books per page (note down the number of pages of 'want-to-read' you have now)



Step 2. Go to Random.org and in the "True Random Number Generator" box, change the max number to the number of pages of your 'want-to-read' shelf as per above (1).



For each of your spin:

Step 3. Sort your shelf as per category of your spins (eg. author desc / asc, num pages desc/asc, etc)

Step 4. Generate a random number from Random (see #2 above) then go to that page of your shelf and those 10 books are your selections for that spin but you only have to read 1 book per spin.

FOR EXAMPLE: If I spun "Number of Ratings (Asc)" and according to above image, I have a random number of 189 so I have to sort my 'want-to-read' shelf by Num Rating in ascending order and go to page 189 for a list of 10 books to read for this spin (I only have to read 1 book out of this list)



Note: if you are missing a category to sort your shelf, click on 'Setting' and you should be able to tick the required category. Make sure you save setting or you will lose it as soon as you move away from the page.

2. Note down your random number for each of your spin as you may regenerate your selection list at anytime BUT you can NOT generate a different random number for your spin.

The only time that you may generate a new random number is if you cannot source any of the 10 books in your original list without spending $$$ and/or you have tried & DNF all 10 books in your original list.

3. There is no provision for a Skip this Round so we have removed the 'bankrupt' categories. There are 4 lose-a-turn categories instead.

4.Goal for Round 4: 14%

Please update your page goals on the Sign Ups & goals thread. Note that when you have completed Wheel of Bookshelves, you would have read at least 50% of your last year's total.

5. Books cannot crossover between Rounds (ie. you can only claim a book once in one of the Rounds).

Me too. I'm nearly 70% through Round 1, 60% through Round 2, and 40% through Round 3. But each time a new Round is unlocked, I get all enthusiastic about it and forget about the previous ones. I'm really looking forward to this TBR round.

I hadn't thought about looking at the percentages - but I'm up to about 80% of round 1, 67% of round 2 and 37% of round 3. So, it's moving along.

And it does make it easier, to have all 4 rounds unlocked, because now I can fit in almost anything on round 3. 4 may be a little more difficult, since the book has to be on the right page, so I may start focusing on that one a little more now that it's unlocked.

No... you can include your newly added books too. I felt that it's a bit mean not allowing newly added books! These new books are what we're very keen to read now lol

That is one of the reason we allowed regenerating lists as with books being read and added or removed during the year, the books on list will change. You just have to keep page numbers are they were first generated :)
