Asteropê (21tauri) | 144 comments Hello! I am unsure how to deal with this...

Juror #3 by James Patterson was supposed to be published as a novella, under the "bookshots" imprint (all "bookshots" are around 100-pages). But it wasn't published (was supposed to be 2017).

The problem is, the ASIN and data are being used for a NOVEL version of the book set to be published this September. Same title, but longer and...different.

ASIN: B01N3ZWFIW

Comes up on Amazon with a different cover, page count, pub date, etc.
https://www.amazon.com/Juror-3-James-...
https://www.amazon.ca/Juror-3-James-P...

The UK Kindle edition has a different ASIN so doesn't have this problem: B078YKTW8G
Juror No. 3

All of the Amazons show the bookshots cover/edition not available:
https://www.amazon.ca/Juror-3-James-P...
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Juror-3-Book...
https://www.amazon.de/Juror-3-BookSho...
etc

These editions are accurate and correct:
Juror #3 by James Patterson Juror No. 3 by James Patterson Juror No. 3 by James Patterson Juror No. 3 by James Patterson
They're mixed in with the incorrect editions....

My questions are --

Should the cover and data of the GR entry for ASIN B01N3ZWFIW be modified to reflect the book as it actually is now? As it does not appear the novella edition was ever published.

Or should an ACE be created? And if an ACE is created, per the new policy, should the ASIN be MOVED to the 400-page novel version?

And should the NOVEL editions be separated from the non-published novellas of the same name?

Thanks!

Z-squared | 8580 comments If you can somehow get confirmation that the novella edition was never published or released as ARCs, then it seems like yes, the old info/covers should be overwritten as pre-publication changes. But I don't know how you would go about getting that confirmation...

Asteropê (21tauri) | 144 comments Well, there are no reviews indicating ARC editions went out. I can't find it available on any retail site, Amazon and others. They all say unavailable. I really do not think it was published. But I can't say I am right now, 100% sure.

Could I just make an ACE for the novels and per the new policy, move that ASIN or ISBN to the most current entries showing up on Amazon (the novels)?

That way, these old entries are still there...but not active as far as ASIN and ISBN data goes and the novel/current editions come up in the search.

Z-squared | 8580 comments Sounds like a good idea. And maybe leave a librarian note on the editions you strongly suspect were never published, in case later info comes to light and librarians down the road can delete them.

Asteropê (21tauri) | 144 comments Okay! Thanks. I will go that today. And make sure to leave notes about what/why I did.

Last question, should all these editions stay merged together? Or should I separate the novella from the novel editions?

Edit: One done, ACE with ASIN moved to it: Juror #3 by James Patterson

Z-squared | 8580 comments Nope, they should stay combined together.
