Bonnie (bonbayel) | 48 comments I loved this book (although the Potato Peel Pie was an attempt to provide refreshments in WWII-time.)
The book is entirely correspondence between a young author and her publisher and friends as well as the members of the GLAPPPS, who tell her about what books meant to them during the war. When she visits the island to meet them, she is so delighted, she ends up staying. This is a real book-lover's book! I highly recommend it! (I'll link to the book next time I'm at my computer.)

Thanks for the recommendation. I've only read one another book entirely based on correspondence (The Man with the Golden Typewriter: Ian Fleming’s Bond Letters which was a bit of a hit or miss.
