Michelle (coppensm) | 3 comments I read this YA book in the early 2000s as a preteen, so between 2000-2006?
I believe it was set in the countryside, about a young boy, possibly an orphan (?) who goes to live in a mysterious house. If I remember correctly, which is questionable, it is an uncle...great-uncle's house? I distinctly remember the kid describing how objects mysteriously moved while he wasn't looking and things scurrying to and from without being seen. I do not remember what these creatures were.

The book cover is still the most distinctive to me. It was covered in ivy, front to back. I believe on the front it had the ivy pulled back to reveal wood or something?

Please, please, please help. I wish I remembered anything else about this book. I have been searching for it for several years now and have finally come to my wits end.

Michelle (coppensm) | 3 comments You know, I even sifted through the bookshelves and solved folder for awhile because I thought, man I'm gonna feel dumb if someone already asked about this one! I'm very glad I know the title now and I appreciate the help!

Don't feel dumb. We appreciate you sifting through the bookshelves and other threads, but it can be really hard to find books that are there because there are so many. And not everyone reveals the same details so different words are going to be in headers.
