RandomAnthony I love House...that's my latest obsession. I've been watching the first season DVDs over the cold season two ready to go.

I also love "The Office" and "30 Rock". The former is, in my eyes, the funniest show on television and leaps and bounds better than the British version. Great acting, great scripts, week after week of laugh out loud scenarios.

"30 Rock" is great and sadly unappreciated.

I like "No Reservations" a lot too, although I just started watching. I'm catching up on the old episodes as they re-run. Next week's episode, when Mr. B. goes back to his old restaurant, looks like a good one.

I also watch "Samantha Brown" on the Travel Channel...she's pretty good.

Hm...after that...Sportscenter...every morning...

ooops-did i say that outloud?

message 5: by J (new)

J The only thing I've watched for the past year is PBS - Masterpiece Theater, Mystery, Nature, NOVA, WordGirl... Not really an intentional boycott or anything. We were watching Earl one night, laughing our butts off, when it hit me: This really isn't at all appropriate for the children. So we figured we'd tape it and watch it an hour later every week. We did that once. Then forgot. Oh well. Here's my all time favorites though:

Earl (did I say that already?)
The Office
Angel (seriously)
Little House on the Prairie

message 6: by Lulu (new)

Lulu | 31 comments King - Mystery Science Theater 3000 - yesss!

But - Little House on the Prairie - your tastes are quite eclectic. Love it.

The Office - American version, although Ko, I've just started watching the British version, so hopefully it lives up to expectations.

Family Guy
Best Week Ever, on VH1
Top Chef
Project Runway

and some older favorites
Hill Street Blues
St. Elsewhere

Firefly (on DVD as it was meant to be seen)
X-Files (before it started smoking the crack)

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
The Office
The Daily Show
Monty Python's Flying Circus
MST3K (woot!)
Second City Television
Twin Peaks
SpongeBob SquarePants
Rocky and Bullwinkle

and my guilty pleasure that I watched every episode on DVD from start to finish... The O.C. I know... it's kinda sad. But Ryan and Seth's love was so pure!! And dude, I would so do Summer.

message 12: by RandomAnthony (last edited Mar 05, 2008 06:38PM) (new)

RandomAnthony The OC? Summer? Rachel Bilson? That time when she dressed up in a superhero costume?

shellyindallas Donald--you really are alone with John of Cincinnati, unless somebody else around here sticks up for it. I tried it. But...
Just the other day I was thinking how great HBO is. Not just for the shows it produced/s but for also for the kinda shows that it's badassness inspired--like Weeds and Dexter.

King-aren't you a Flight of the Conchords fan? Looks like you forgot that one but it deserves mentioning.
Along with (and some of these are repeats)
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Pushing Daisies
Mr. Show with Bob and David
Strangers with Candy
Chappelle Show
The Sarah Silverman Program
The Daily Show/Colbert Report
Late Night w/ Conan O'Brien
The Office (both versions--I hate when people bag on the US version it's just as good as the original)
Judge Judy
I was raised on television so I could go on, but I won't suffer you all through that.

message 17: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Quantum Leap!

I might get to meet Dr. Sam Beckett AKA Scott Bakula later this month! He's starring in a musical in San Diego with my friend Mara and I'm hoping Mara will introduce me to him.

message 18: by Meghan (new)

Meghan *MST3k! But with Joel, not Mike. Tom Servo! Ccrrrrooooowwww!

*Sealab 2020 & 2021
*Harvey Birdman
*Aqua Teen Hunger Force

*Rome - gorgeous and thrilling. Polly Walker as Atia was absolutely brilliant.
*Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond - To me Kevin Conroy is the voice of Bruce and Mark Hamill is the one and only Joker.

message 22: by Meels (new)

Meels (amelia) When you were a kid, I was a kid King, I'm pretty sure we're about the same age...but you live in WA, and I in OR, maybe it was different. They came on our local channel, channel 12, back in the day when there were only 5 (ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS and the local channel).

Or, I am totally remembering wrong and you win! :)

Red Dwarf is too funny. I have seasons one and two...should get more.

message 23: by Meghan (last edited Mar 06, 2008 11:06AM) (new)

Meghan Koeeoaddi - I'm sure you have excellent taste, but Mike pales in comparison to the genius that is Joel. heh

Oglethorpe: NO! It is the FARGATE! It is not some other kind of gate from a movie or TV show that I've never seen! Notice that it has a wheelchair and a pink mohawk? We're not getting sued!

message 24: by Meels (new)

Meels (amelia) You're two years older, and I don't remember any of that other stuff you mentioned. I remember it as Sat. followed by Battlestar Galactica and Buck Rogers (beedy beedy...that one wasn't so great), after the cartoons had died around noon.

message 25: by Meghan (new)

Meghan Oh, but "debating" is so much fun!

But at least we'll always have Gypsy.

message 26: by Meghan (new)

Meghan What was that episode where the guy goes to some place to meet with all these scientists. But while he's there he discovers some seedy goings on and tries to escape with the pretty lady hostess but ends up getting picked up by the martians and they fly in their spaceship to the distant lands where their host with the really big brain ends up dying (sorry...spoiler there)? That's my favorite. heh

message 27: by Meghan (new)

Meghan I just like that dude's GIANT head. It was so funny.

message 28: by Kelly (new)

Kelly TV Shows! Yay!

Past: The West Wing, ROME, Dawson's Creek (I loved that thing in middle school and I SHALL THANK YOU NOT TO JUDGE!), Friends, Fraiser.

Current: The Office, 30 Rock, Battlestar Galatica (yay for all my fellow nerds!), The Tudors, ANTM marathons (never in single episodes, always in all day gluttony), Daily Show/Colbert, The Soup, and Project Runway.

message 29: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Oh my huband and I love Frasier! We have all the seasons on DVD. It's his favorite show of all time. I love the high brow humor and I think David Hyde Pierce's physical comedy was brilliant.

message 30: by Kelly (new)

Kelly I totally agree! I know it was a totally pretentious show, ridiculously so at times, but I LOVED it. The arguements between Kelsey Grammar and David Hyde Pierce were fantastic. It was like watching something of an old farce.

message 31: by Meghan (new)

Meghan Kelly - I judge thee...and you are marvelous!

I secretly heart Dawson's Creek myself. Loved, loved, loved the series finale. Just perfect.

message 32: by Clackamas (new)

I was waiting for someone else to say Dawson's Creek.

Ninja Warrior!!!
Star Trek Enterprise
Quantum Leap (yes, I have the hots for Scott Bakula)
Dawson's Creek
Oregon Field Guide
Antique Roadshow (especially since they added the booth where the people can talk about their priceless heirlooms that turned out to be worthless too)
Twilight Zone (love the holiday marathons)
Freaks and Geeks
Beauty and the Geek
3-2-1 Contact (I wish they'd release it on DVD)

message 33: by Meghan (new)

Meghan Ahhh, the bloodhound I miss them!

message 34: by Meels (new)

Meels (amelia) I had a crush on Niles...

message 35: by Clackamas (new)

Clackamas Yeah Meghan! Someone else remembered them! What about Square One Television? They were the math oriented counterpart to 3-2-1 Contact and had Mathnet as the counterpart to the Bloodhound Gang. I spent so much time watching PBS as a child...

message 36: by Meghan (new)

Meghan Well, for some reason this made me think of Bill Nye the Science Guy, who always makes me think of Mister Wizard.

Clackamas - Can't forget the Electric Company either.

message 37: by Dash (new)

Dash | 43 comments Yes - Space Ghost & a definite two thumbs way up for "Briscoe County Jr." & "Twin Peaks"!!!! Also worthy of mention, "Fawlty Towers" & "Young Ones"...

message 38: by Dash (new)

Dash | 43 comments Hell yeah!

message 39: by Dash (new)

Dash | 43 comments "COUNTY!!!"

message 40: by Meels (new)

Meels (amelia) Yes, Fawlty Towers and The Young Ones...but if we are staying in the Brit genre, then don't forget Bottom, one of Rik Mayall's best!

message 41: by Meels (new)

Meels (amelia) King, you seem to be very BBC friendly...

message 42: by Meels (new)

Meels (amelia) One of my favorite Bottom clips:

message 43: by Sarah (last edited Mar 06, 2008 04:26PM) (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Ooh! I remember Square One, 3-2-1 Contact, and the Electric Company! I loved them. Remember the Schoolhouse Rock cartoons? I don't remember Bloodhound Gang though.

I cried bitterly when Mr. Rogers died.

I sort of had a crush on Niles too. I loved how he pined for Daphne. They were cute after they got together but it wasn't as good as when he worshipped her from afar.

Clackamas, I adored Scott Bakula too! He could sing and dance while cauterizing a wound and flying a space ship. Heh. I really really hope Mara can introduce us.

And thank you for saying Beauty and the Geek because I love it.

message 44: by Meels (new)

Meels (amelia) Father Ted, I love that too, I have all of them on DVD.

message 46: by Meels (new)

Meels (amelia) Oh, go on, you will, you will, you will...

message 48: by M0rfeus (new)

M0rfeus Didn't anyone here watch Coupling?

How about H R Puffnstuff? Was that show on crack or what?

message 50: by Meghan (new)

Meghan Captain Kangaroo! And Mr. Green Jeans. sigh

Superfriends anyone? They actually named the new courthouse here "The Hall of Justice" (I am NOT kidding). My friends and I soooooo wanted to open a cafe next to it called the Legion of Doom, but we didn't know about the trademark infringement laws.
