SOLVED: Children's/YA > SOLVED. YA romance. Possibly a hunter series or something around that theme. [s]

Leanne (leanne77) | 61 comments The main girl is from a hunter family i believe. Or something to do with witches/powers. I remember the main scene in which a group of teenagers within this community of witches/hunters are being seperated into groups. I think they hold onto a staff or stone of some sort that changes colour depending on their power? Everyone's went well until hers which took a really long time to change but it meant she was incredibly powerful or something and then some hunky guy takes her away.

Melanie | 592 comments Was there vampires in this book, I read a book on kindle unlimited that the girl after the stone test stays at this school. She ends up dealing with multiple vampires, one of these vampires is evil and when the local vampire brings the girl to a party. She's all dressed up and the evil vampire smells her blood and get infatuated with her. She ends having to steal something from him (evil vamp) anyways later in the book the evil vamp drinks her blood and he gets turned back into human. If this is the book let me know and i'll look for it in my kindle history

Please note you can bump your thread (post a comment) every 30+ days - or sooner if you remember more information.

Around what year did you read this book?

It would have been late 2016 early 2017 i think...

Leanne (leanne77) | 61 comments I think the girls parents are really famous in their community. I can't remember if they die or not -maybe they go missing or something. I think they hunt vampires or werewolves or some other paranormal creature?? I could be mixing two books with one. I'm pretty sure after the ceremony thing where she has shocked her community she has to go to a school to learn more hunting skills. Her main teacher/bodyguard is the guy who took her away. Pretty sure they fall in love.

Tadgh | 28 comments This sounds like Beautiful Creatures to me!

There's a good/evil separation of people with powers; they're required to make a choice as part of a coming-of-age ritual. (Casters choose to be Light Casters or Dark Casters on their 16th birthday.) Their eyes are different colors denoting their alignment.

The main girl's (Lena) takes forever as she has difficulty choosing a side. The whole ordeal is shocking.

There's a romance component with some sort of star-crossed lovers reincarnation theme. The narrator of this first book in the series is actually the powerless boy (Ethan). (I haven't read past the first book.) He's not a teacher, but does do research in a secret library and teaches what he finds to her? He also protects her.

Her family is infamous not just for the above (they're the modern counterparts to nearly the same story happening in the Civil War), but for her uncle's being a recluse. Also, there's a party later in the book that like everyone attends.

Sadly not... This does sound amazing though!!!

I remember it was at the beginning i think and she's with her best friend who is also a hunter and about to do the initiation thing with her. They are in her house and talking about how the MC will do okay since her parents are so great and then either someone breaks in or someone comes to tell her that her parents are missing.

Leanne (leanne77) | 61 comments I found it!!! It is Everlasting by Candace Knoebel. The ceremony thing is called the Culling and reveals if they are witches or hunters!!! Its a great book if anyone fancies it!
