It was a crazy good book about a fantasy kingdom in the pages of a book, quite literally if I recall correctly. Something to do with a princess/heroine. The copy I read was hardcover, had the "distressed pages", and I think it was an offwhite cover with a picture of the scenery from the story. Unfortunately I don't have much more detail than that. I just remember it being entirely a unique plot.
