God appears to putting together a new all star Rock band. Singer Mike Howe, drummer Joey J and now bassist Dusty Hill. Ye olde guitarists best watch their step.

She was really good as Mrs Hudson in Sherlock as well. I assume that you have fond childhood memories of Worzel Gummidge like I do, Tim. I'm sure Channel 4 used to show replays years ago on a Sunday morning as well. I can remember watching it with a fry-up and a bit of a hang-over. 😁
Going further back, she was a lovely, quirky daughter to Alf Garnett in Till Death Do Us Part. And even before that stared with Cliff Richard in Summer Holiday.
I may be the only fan of "Summer Holiday" (I even have the sing-a-long version on DVD - cue eye-rolling from Les!) but she was lovely in that! Such a vibrant personality.
You’re not the only fan of Summer Holiday, Val, although I haven’t seen it for years and I suspect it might make me cringe these days. I had the LP back in the day.

As she was Anthony Booth's on-screen wife, of course, I also like to think of her as Tony Blair's mother-in-law.

Very sad news, 58 really is no age at all ;o<I hadn't realised that he had spent so many decades living with Skin Cancer either.
One of the best things about these panel comedy shows was Sean's often obtuse wit. A shock to find out he's passed.
I recall some while back, in one of his last appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, that he was clearly looking quite pallid, and was having trouble speaking clearly.....and i did wonder if he was suffering from a serious illness.....now we know. I didn't always get his style of humour, but he a very clever man non the less. Him and Bill Bailey on QI often descended into chaos when they let rip with their surreal comedy!

Martial arts star Sonny Chiba, has died aged 82 from covid complications. Chiba shot to fame in Japan in the 1970s with the Street Fighter trilogy and other films. He was name-checked by Quentin Tarantino in his script for True Romance (dir. Tony Scott, 1993), when Clarence offered to take Alabama to a Sonny Chiba film night. He was subsequently cast by the director in Kill Bill Vol. 1 (2003) as a sushi chef and master sword-smith. He later appeared as a yakuza boss in the third Fast & Furious film, Tokyo Drift (2006).

Desperately sad news to find out Trouble and The Skull vocalist Eric Wagner has passed at 62 from complications with covid. Trouble were one of the forerunners of traditional Doom Metal who, along with Pentagram, Candlemass and St Vitus took the blueprint sound of Black Sabbath and really expanded on it.At The End Of My Daze

I loved those adverts...especially the guy from Rab C Nesbitt in them, they were hilarious! I agree, today's heavily CGI'd nonsensical commercials just drive me something rotten......why are they so sooo irritating and noisy now? Who the hell gunna watch them for with all crap thumping music plastered all over them? Don't the ad men know yet.....that we 'consumers' have the power, in the form of a remote control??!! No? They should!Car adverts are a particular favourite loathing of mine.....they are so pathetically unrealistically stupid these days! Why can't they actually tell us what 'effing' hell they're actually capable of & what they've got in them....instead of sending the viewer down some surreal kaleidoscopic world of the impossible. I mean.....the ad men do know, that cars cannot fly, don't they?! And they cannot drive up perpendicular walls too? And don't get me started on the dreadful music they shove on them as well. Gawd almighty!
Anyway..this isn't the gripes and groans thread, so...

Folk singer Michael Chapman has died aged 80. Born in Leeds, he established himself in the clubs of northern England during the 60s. The only time he troubled the chart compilers was in 1970 with his album 'Fully Qualified Survivor', but he continued making records right through to 2019.
