Happy New Year! I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday!
This year for my family gift exchange, I asked for specific books, but I also asked that people give me their Favorite Book along with a note about why they like it so much! One family took me up on the offer and I'm so looking forward to reading their book... it turns out their first born child was named for one of the characters!
The writing topic for our postcard this month is about gifting books. Do you ask for specific books on gifting occasions? Or do you prefer a gift card to get your own books? Did you get any books for Christmas? What kind of books do you wrap up to give as presents... Something your loved one would actually read or something you want them to read? ;)
This writing topic is recycled from January 2013! And no, this is NOT a book exchange. Postcard only: we are writing our thoughts about books as gifts.
The usual guidelines: You will send one postcard and you will receive one postcard. The postcard can be store-bought or hand-made and can have any kind of picture on the front. We are an International group. Newbies are so very welcome!
You can sign up for this exchange by posting below or messaging me. Please sign up by Saturday morning, 13 Jan.
Flagging a post will send it to the Goodreads Customer Care team for review.
We take abuse seriously in our discussion boards.
Only flag comments that clearly need our attention.
As a general rule we do not censor any content on the site.
The only content we will consider removing is spam,
slanderous attacks on other members,
or extremely offensive content (eg. pornography, pro-Nazi, child abuse, etc).
We will not remove any content for bad language alone, or being critical
of a particular book.
