Normally I catch up in December with all the days off from work but somehow this month I didn't get much read -- I ended up 9 books short of my year goal (although some of the books I read were collected works with five or six books as originally printed, so if I had counted separately I would be well over; well short of my 35,000 page goal; but more than double my goal of 20 not in English, thanks mainly to my Balzac project in French but also two or three each in Spanish and German. I'll keep the same goals for next year and hopefully will do better.

I set my 2017 goal at 140 books & 40,000 pages. I read 153 books and 43,000 pages! Woohoo! However, I'm setting my 2018 book goal at only 100 because I want to catch up on several classics that I have been putting off, and they are really long! So I will keep my page goal fairly high even if I read less books :)
