message 19: by Cendaquenta (new)

Cendaquenta | 307 comments Finished The Grapes of Wrath, which fulfils Popsugar prompt #45 (Advanced #5), "a book with a fruit or vegetable in the title".
I'm also putting it into the Read Harder Challenge under task #7, "a western", but only provisionally since it only very, very loosely comes under that heading.

message 20: by Cendaquenta (new)

Cendaquenta | 307 comments Fulfilled #15 of Popsugar, "a book about feminism", with A Room of One's Own and Three Guineas. :)

message 21: by Cendaquenta (new)

Cendaquenta | 307 comments Fulfilled Popsugar Advanced Prompt #9, "a book about a problem facing society today", with Red Clocks. It's a speculative fiction book about a present-day or near-future USA where reproductive rights have been severely curtailed - fetuses are granted legal personhood and so terminations, IVF, etc. are illegal. Very interesting but unsettling in its plausibility...
