What's with Anna Pavlovna (Annette Scherer)?

Why is she so freaked out about Pierre? Is it the volatile Bastard in him that makes her worry? And why is she inviting people over when she's sick? Perhaps she is fashionably ill, in the sense that she can succumb to vapors should it strike her fancy. The book does suggest that having the flu (gripp) was all the rage.

I was under the impression that she's not really sick but only sick when it's convenient for her to get out of something she finds uncomfortable or boring.

I feel like she's freaked out by Pierre cause she like things running in a perfect rhythm, everything is supposed to run smoothly and be proper. Everyone is supposed to get along and do everything that she deems to be okay. Pierre talks loudly, gets excited and generally seems to act in a way that he wants, not in the way that is expected of him. That's threatening to her and her way fo being. Also yeah it definitely seems like she's the kind of person that would fake illness when and if it suits her.
