Seema Rao (seemarao) | 12 comments My reading goal is not a number but a set of feelings, to:
1. Feel fueled by reading
2. Stretch myself
3. Keep reading for fun

For the first:
Read 20 min each day

For the second:
I read anything that I see in the library. I will be more purposeful this year:
Read 10 works that add ideas to my life (ie nonfiction and or self-help)
Read 10 works that are nobel/ booker/ or Pulitzer prize winners
Read 1 book written in the 17th, 18th, 19, 20th centuries
Read 5 books that I never finished
Read a book about each inhabited content

For the third:
Don’t feel guilt for those pleasurable books.
Clear out 10 books from my to read list on Goodreads

This year I read 256 books with an average of 350 pages. Next year, looking at around 200 books.

Seema Rao (seemarao) | 12 comments Been a good first month. I did pretty well with my challenges.

For the first:
Read 20 min each day--been doing this; also not watching TV so doing much more.

For the second:
Read 10 works that add ideas to my life (ie nonfiction and or self-help) Working on my next book, so I have been reading a lot of non-fiction. Really enjoyed Super Better and The Power of Habit.
Read 10 works that are nobel/ booker/ or Pulitzer prize winners Nothing yet. But, have read 75% of the caledecotts and 10 Newberys this month.
Read 1 book written in the 17th, 18th, 19, 20th centuries : Nothing yet.
Read 5 books that I never finished: Nothing yet.
Read a book about each inhabited continent: Under the Painting Sun, North America; Chainbreaker, Asia; Finding Nouf, Middle East, Comet Seekers, Antarctica. Looks like I will need to be more purposeful about Africa, S. America and Australia.

For the third:
Don’t feel guilt for those pleasurable books.
Clear out 10 books from my to-read list on Goodreads Super Better and Power of Habit had been on there. So was a What Angel's Fear (good) and Book and Scone Society (okay)
