Paget | 118 comments I started with the new graphic novel adaptation of The City of Dreaming Books. It is great. Can't wait to get my hands on the second part. I am travelling for the rest of the week. I don't known if I will be able to update a lot. But I already packed Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Have a nice reading week you all.

Glad to hear you are making great progress already! I'll be travelling at the end of this week as well, so hopefully you can get in some reading when you can! Enjoy!

Mischief Management | 3 comments I started the year with The Book of Dust, and I've become utterly hooked. I've been meaning to pick up His Dark Materials
for a while, but I will admit I've been wary of too much religious symbolism after Narnia. This being a fresh prequel, I decided to finally give it a go and I don't regret a thing. The way this book reads feels so true to certain periods in human history that I'm eager to pick up the complete series to see just what happens from now on. I also have plans to reread the full Harry Potter series again this year, so this challenge comes in handy.

sarah (sarahshelves) I'm on 'Order of the Phoenix' at the moment and I'm just loving how sassy badass Ginny appears in this book. And also re-reading this series just makes me re-realise how much I adore the twins! Hope everyone else's reading is going well!

Ginny is amazing; she's my favourite female character in the whole series. The films didn't do her the slightest bit of justice, and neither did they fully explore so many wonderful possibilities for scenes with the twins. What we got with the Phelps twins was brilliant, but there could have been much more. But for that to happen, HP would have to be made into a Game of Trones style television series with direction much truer to the characters. The films either removed some of their most gaping flaws which made them so great in the books (Hermione & Snape), or they just made them lack their best attributes completely (Ron & Ginny.)

Meneniareads (nenia) | 93 comments I’m reading the Order of the Phoenix and I read 100 pages the first day.

Gabrielle (gabrielle713) | 3 comments I started off with continuing lord of the rings the two towers.. and Percy Jackson and the sea of monsters :) I'm still loving them both so far

message 9: by Alisha (new)

Alisha (booksandthingswithalisha) I started reading illustrated version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, but didn't get very far. I spent most of the day taking down Christmas decorations and putting the house back together...slow start, but I started. :)

BlurryBug | 386 comments I'm not reading Harry Potter this time around, got too many due books from the library to start rereading
but started Sweeney Todd: The Real Story of the Demon Barber of Fleet Street today

Kimberly | 141 comments Didn't get any reading done as my husband and kids were home for the day and I don't really read when they are around... too distracting lol.
