LEVELS:
Party animal - Choose ten numbers each month; you are required to complete SIX tasks.
Social butterfly - Choose only eight numbers each month; you are required to complete FOUR tasks.
Just being polite - Choose only six numbers each month; you are required to complete THREE tasks.

JANUARY HOLIDAYS

Here are January's holidays and their associated tasks. In case you've forgotten which dates you chose, I've listed them at the bottom of this post :)
PLEASE NOTE: If the task calls for an item or color on the cover, you MUST post the book cover. If it asks for certain letter/s in the author's name, you MUST post the name. If you don't, you won't get credit for completing the task.


Jan 1 - Z Day: Read a book whose title begins with Z or by an author whose first/last name begins with Z (Z Day is a holiday that can be celebrated by letting all those poor unfortunate people with names that start with Z be first in line. )
Jan 2 - Run It Up the Flagpole and See if Anybody Salutes It Day: Read a book in which someone has what seems like a crazy idea OR a book whose cover colors are ONLY those colors of your country’s flag
Jan 3 - Festival of Sleep Day: Read a book from your ‘comfort zone’
Jan 4 - Trivia Day: Read a non-fiction book OR a book from which you learn something you didn’t know before
Jan 5 - National Bird Day: Read a book with a bird on the cover or in the title

Jan 6 - Cuddle Up Day: Read a romance book OR a book with a quilt/blanket on the cover or in the title
Jan 7 - Old Rock Day: Read a book published before 1985 OR a book in which a character digs something (a grave, an archeological dig, etc.)
Jan 8 - Bubble Bath Day: Read a book with a bathtub/shower scene OR read a book with what you consider a clean cover
Jan 9 - Play God Day: Read a book in which a character's faith is important OR a good in which someone tries to tell everyone else what to do
Jan 10 - Peculiar People Day: Read a book with a character whose name you think is peculiar OR a book with one of these words in its title: ODD, STRANGE, CURIOUS, UNCOMMON, FANTASTIC or WEIRD. No variations!

Jan 11 - National Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friend Day: Read a book with water in the title or on the cover OR a book in which a weather event is a major part of the story
Jan 12 - Feast of Fabulous Wild Men Day: Read a book set in the Wild West OR read a book in which most of the characters are men
Jan 13 - Blame Someone Else Day: Read a book in which someone blames someone else for something that s/he did
Jan 14 - National Dress Up Your Pet Day: Read a book in which a character has a pet of some sort
Jan 15 - National Hat Day: Read a book with a hat on the cover OR book #3 in a series

Jan 16 - National Nothing Day: Read a book of your choice
Jan 17 - Ditch New Year’s Resolutions Day: Read a book that you’ve given up on before
Jan 18 - Thesaurus Day: Read a book in which the first letter of the title (other than A, An or The) can be found in THESAURUS
Jan 19 - National Popcorn Day: Read a book that has been made into a movie or TV show
Jan 20 - Penguin Awareness Day: Read a book with a cover that is more than 50% black and/or white

Jan 21 - National Hugging Day: Read a feel-good book
Jan 22 - National Blonde Brownie Day: Read a book in which a character is blonde OR a book with recipes included
Jan 23 - National Pie Day: Read a book with a dessert on the cover or in the title OR a book with a 3, 1 or 4 in the total number of pages
Jan 24 - Belly Laugh Day: Read a book that makes you laugh
Jan 25 - Opposite Day: Read a book with a pair of opposite words in the title (always & never, young & old, big & small, etc.)

Jan 26 - Spouse's Day: Read a book featuring a married couple
Jan 27 - Punch the Clock Day: Read a book in which a (physical) fight of some sort occurs OR a book with a clock or other timepiece on the cover or in the title
Jan 28 - Fun at Work Day: Read a book in which a character has a job that you think would be fun
Jan 29 - National Puzzle Day: Read a book featuring a puzzle of some sort
Jan 30 - National Inane Answering Message Day: Read a book whose title is a pun that makes you groan
Jan 31 - Inspire Your Heart with Art Day: Read a book in which a character is an artist OR a book with an illustration on the cover (NOT a photograph)
