Hi everyone! I'm new to the groups. I've been wanting something to make reading more interesting. I'm a knitter and crocheter (fiber enthusiast) and I find myself at knit group when they talk about things wishing we could talk about books and having no one to talk to! So I found myself searching for book clubs late one night and here I am.

Hi all! I joined the group yesterday. Live in Austin, TX and was a voracious reader growing up but sort of let the busyness of life distract me over the years. Really looking forward to a renewed focus and self-permission to take the time to read a lot more.

@Rebecca: I crochet too, although not so much anymore lately. I'd love to see some of your creations!

@Chris: I also read a lot as a kid, then at some point it got less and less. Probably because of required reading at high school and after that a lot of study-related reading at uni. A few years ago I bought an ereader and joined GR, and I'm reading a lot since. Can't imagine what I did with all my time spent on trains and free time when I didn't read much!

I agree, Chris, we are very good enablers, and will encourage you to read as much as you wish. Hehe. Welcome back to reading though. I also took time out from reading after being a notorious bookworm as a kid. it's lovely to be back, hope you feel the same.

Rebecca, as indicated, we have a lot of fibre artists here as well as readers. Many also listen to audiobooks while working their magic with their wool, fabric, and the like. You may also be interested in the thread we have called What have you made lately?, particularly as people are asking for creation pictures already!

Thanks for this group. I’m from Argentina, I used to study literature before becoming a full time tango dancer. Reading has always been a lonely activity for me, until now . I’m now learning to use this platform to get book recommendations and finally get in touch with people with the same passion for reading. Hugs!

Thank you all for the lovely greetings. I’m still learning to use this and I don’t know how to reply each of you individually. This is the only group I’m joining and it sounds a lot of fun!
