Do a Western teacher's opinions change after he / she has been there more than one teaching year?

Definitely. As a teacher, my program began its development during my second year of teaching in China. I observed lifestyles, tried to remember that this is a different culture than what I'd grown up in and tried to observe but not judge too quickly. Overall however, I probably became more critical of the conduct within Chinese society as time passed. I also decided that some Westerners who had allegedly come to teach were unfit for that role; their personal traits were objectionable in any society. If you really want examples, I can give some.
