Ahdam (snowlocke) | 2409 comments Hmm I might have put a lot on my plate since I'm gonna be reading

Gardens of the moon
Homeland
Legend
Exile
Warbreaker

So I have a lot I'm not sure I can join wrath and I'm behind in WOT so I'll either catch up on February or read dragon reborn on that date but like I said a lot on my plate hahaha

message 3: by Timelord Iain (new)

Timelord Iain | 14712 comments Child of the Prophecy
Victory of Eagles
Gardens of the Moon
Dragons of Winter Night
Paladin of Souls
Red Seas Under Red Skies
Menagerie (BR follow-along)
Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet
Legend
American Gods
Providence of Fire
Warbreaker

Possibly: Hero of Ages (if I re-read Well of Ascension first)

I'm about to finish Blood Song early, so I guess that barely counts...

message 4: by Delitealex (new)

Delitealex | 370 comments Planning to read
Homeland
Exile
Long way to a small angry planet

And hope to fit in
Dragons of winter night
Warbreaker

message 5: by Hailee (last edited Jan 01, 2018 04:36PM) (new)

Hailee | 2375 comments I'll be taking part in the buddy reads for:

Gardens of the Moon (The Malazan Book of the Fallen, #1) by Steven Erikson Red Seas Under Red Skies (Gentleman Bastard, #2) by Scott Lynch

There are a couple of others I would have liked to join in on but with my commitments to buddy reads with other groups I just have no time!

With another group I'll be reading:

Malice (The Faithful and the Fallen, #1) by John Gwynne The Painted Man (Demon Cycle, #1) by Peter V. Brett

message 6: by Hailee (new)

Hailee | 2375 comments Ahdam wrote: "I'm behind in WOT so I'll..."

Me to. I've come to accept that I just can't read this series very fast. I expect I'll probably only get to The Dragon Reborn, The Shadow Rising and maybe The Fires of Heaven in 2018. I alway read one over several months. And then take a break of a couple of months before starting the next.

message 7: by Ahdam (new)

Ahdam (snowlocke) | 2409 comments To be honest it isn't a speed issue I wasn't interested to read DR during the buddy read and I'm still not now (after some encouraging words from someone I met at Sanderson signing) so I'll probably play the catch up game until I have space and be in the right mood to catch up

message 8: by Miche (last edited Dec 31, 2017 06:27PM) (new)

Miche | 2939 comments Confirmed:

Reaper's Gale - me and Angela liked the previous one so much that we decided to start this one earlier than we had originally planned.

The Shadow Rising - not a fan of Jordan's writing, so this might be where I end my WoT journey with the group.

Warbreaker

Attempt:

Inda

Andrew | 652 comments Miche wrote: "The Shadow Rising - not a fan of Jordan's writing, so this might be where I end my WoT journey with the group."

Shadow Rising was my favorite of the pre-Sanderson novels. Might be worth a shot to see if the series turns around for you during the book. If you don't enjoy Shadow Rising though, then I completely understand quitting the series, because it's a loooong way 'til the Sandersons.

message 10: by Andrew (new)

Andrew | 652 comments The Darkest Road, Legend, and a reread of The Shadow Rising are all on-tap for my January BRs. I'm particularly looking forward to Legend. Can't wait!

message 11: by Miche (new)

Miche | 2939 comments @Andrew, that's the plan. :)

message 12: by Andrew (new)

Andrew | 652 comments Miche wrote: "@Andrew, that's the plan. :)"

It's a sound plan, Miche! I feel like if you get through Shadow Rising and don't like it, then WoT just clearly isn't for you.

Chris (haughtc) | 1604 comments When are you starting Reapers Gale, Miche?

message 14: by Miche (last edited Dec 31, 2017 08:54PM) (new)

message 15: by Nyssa (new)

Nyssa | 158 comments I'm looking forward to buddy rereading the first three books in the Sookie Stackhouse series this month!

I'm hoping to reread the first two books of The Hollows series as well.

Happy January, everyone! :)

message 16: by Zaara (new)

Zaara | 4101 comments Signed up for Blood Song (ebook), Gardens of the Moon, American Gods.
Stretch goal is to read Inda before May so I can BR the rest of the series...but this is soooo a mebbe.

Silvana (silvaubrey) | 1763 comments Paladin of Souls and if I can spare time, reread Abaddon's Gate

message 18: by Chris (new)

Chris (murphy44) | 706 comments Well, my reading in December just didn't happen... Complete fall on ALL reading fronts! So I'm going to try to make up a few reads and see how it goes. This is what I'm hoping for in January:
Blood Song
The Hero of Ages
Gardens of the Moon
Dragons of Winter Night
The Providence of Fire

And I still need to finish:
The Emperor's Blades
Dragons of Autumn Twilight

So I'll do my best without neglecting the family!

Saar The Book owl | 1878 comments @Chris: you're not alone! December wasn't a good reading - month. I think I finished 1 BR. I hope it will get better for you this month.

I still need to finish:
A Game of Thrones
The Lies of Locke Lamora
Black Powder War
Empire of Ivory
Dragons of Autumn Twilight

And I want to start:
Victory of Eagles
The Clan of the Cave Bear
American Gods

Mayim de Vries | 2831 comments Margret, thank you for the thread. I got used to organising my reading schedule here.
This month I plan the following:

1. Malazan
2. Sword-Born
3. Dragon of Winter Night (reread)
4. Paladin of Souls
5. The Darkest Road
6. The Legend (reread)
7. The Range of Gods
8. Bloodsong (sometime in between)

I may attempt Inda as it sounds super fun.

Edit: And I have forgotten: Child of the Prophecy.

Mayim that was the fastest I’ve ever set one up! I did it all on my third break at work, there was some intense copy/pasting and typing

I wish I could read that many books in a month! I'm thrilled when I can manage one every week or two. I just don't read that quickly at all!

I had initially wanted to add Blood Song to my list for this month, but I really don't see myself having the time.

message 26: by Mayim (new)

Mayim de Vries | 2831 comments I don't have TV in the house and I don't use social media aside from GR. you'd be surprised how much reading time this gives me. :)

message 27: by Rea (last edited Jan 01, 2018 05:23PM) (new)

Rea Sanders (realauren89) | 42 comments I think I have lost my mind. Seriously, school starts back 1/10 for me, and I'm about to read three bricks because one of them I've always wanted to read, the second one is a series I need to finish, and the third I have put down four times and need to get it over with.

This month I plan (being the operative word) to read:
1) Malazan
2) Shadow Rising
3) Warbreaker

*edit
My dumbass slam didn't realize I'm two books behind in WoT to do this buddy read this go around. *curses* So they are now being placed in my personal books to read before the next WoT BR. FML

I hear you... I'm heading back to work as a long-term substitute teacher on Friday the 5th; students start back on the 8th (I'll be teaching 4th-grade math), and my classes for university start that same day as well (I take all of my courses online).

So reading will be weaved between the needs of my family, my students, and my coursework.

My planner looks like a unicorn rainbow shit on it. Seriously between reading, momming and nursing school I'm probably going to get beat to death by Malazan.

message 30: by Nyssa (new)

Nyssa | 158 comments *Snort*

I have 3 in high school, including a band geek and a senior, so god only knows who I’ll be taking where for the next 6 months.

My eldest (the senior) still has to get his drivers’ license and my twins have to get their permits (but that’s still a few weeks off).

It’s going to be a fun year!

01/20 Legend
01/25 Range of Ghosts

message 34: by Chris (new)

Chris (haughtc) | 1604 comments Miche wrote: "@Chris, January 8th. :)"

Ok, great. I'll probably back out for now (still reading Oathbringer). Don't feel bad though, as I'm sure I'd still be majorly behind by Feb. I'm chasing my tail trying to catch up anywhere....

Unless I can cram in the Tor.com rereads for books 1-6 by then.

message 35: by Rob (new)

Rob (nefariasbredd) | 1656 comments In theory I would like to do:

Gardens of the Moon
Bloodsong
Dead Until Dark
Paladin of Souls
The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet
Providence of Fire
Living Dead in Dallas
Club Dead

This will never happen.

I also am scurrying to finish a book from last year plus have graphic novels in to burn through. Malazan and the Southern Vampire Tales are rereads (I never read the 8th - 10th books I think, but decided to start from the beginning with y'all.).
