3. California - Afterglow by Catherine Coulter (1/6/18) - An older but funny and quick romance
4. Tennessee - Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate (1/16/18) - A tragic story, but one that needs to be told about the huge scandal with the Memphis Tennessee Children's Home and the children they stole, kidnapped, or took from decent families so they could sell them into adoption.
That last book sounds brutal, Nancy. Poor children and poor parents! When did this take place?

When did this take place?"It was during the Great Depression, so in the 1930's, but unfortunately it continued until 1950. Even then, the woman who gained millions from it basically got away with it, and was not brought to justice before she died. To make matters worse and to try to cover it up, the state of Tennessee sealed all the adoption records so that children could not find their real parents and parents could never find out what happened to their children. There were thousands of children that were involved and many more people whose lives were irreparably changed with that whole tragedy. The family in this book was fictionalized but based on what truly happened in real life to thousands of other kids. It is indeed horrifying.

6. Georgia - Leave It to Cleavage by Wendy Wax (1/26/18) - A funny (in some ways) romance
7. Wisconsin - Love, Luck, and Lemon Pie by Amy E. Reichert (1/27/18)
8. Indiana - Turtles All the Way Down by John Green (1/29/18) This is another excellent novel about teenagers and their issues, and incorporating a sort of mystery as well.
9. Virginia - The Diva Digs Up the Dirt by Krista Davis (1/31/18) - A good entry in the 'Diva' mystery series.
10. Hawaii - Aloha Rose by Lisa Carter (2/9/18)
11. Rhode Island - The Traveling Tea Shop by Belinda Jones (2/13/18) - This book takes place in several New England states, but since the first one they visit is Rhode Island, important events happen there that change the direction of the plot, and they end up there again near the end, where more important things happen, I am counting this one for Rhode Island. It is definitely a good read!

43. Michigan - South of Superior by Ellen Airgood (9/19/18) - This is the BEST book I have read in a long time! It was absolutely wonderful and I will probably read it again, even though I rarely re-read books.

I never expected the story to be what it was, and if it hadn't been for this challenge, I never would have picked it up. I am so grateful that I found it! I love that it just presents life as it is, and the characters have the right attitude (most of them) and it is just an awesome book, in my opinion.
44. South Dakota - Meanwhile back in Deadwood by Ann Charles (9/26/18) - A good mystery series but a bit heavy on the paranormal stuff for me.
