I'm going to suggest one author (who writes under 2 names) Shelly Laurenston this name writes "normal" shifters--wolves, bears, honey badgers, tigers, lions, etc. The
alternate name G. A. Aiken this "name" writes about shape shifting dragons.

Celia Kyle is another author with humourous books. No Ifs, Ands, or Bears about It is the first book in one of her humour series. Maya: Wisdom from the Queen totally funny, even though, as the title says, there isn't any real plot. But the "sayings" or "wisdom" will have you giggling out loud.

Aerulan | 1199 comments Are you absolutely set on shifters only? The Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole is frequently very funny but while there's some werewolves a lot of the characters are other types of paranormals (not really the type to count as shifters) and the werewolf's book is later in the series so reading it out of order may not work as well.

Parker (parker2030) | 16 comments thanks I do read Celia Kyle but will look at the others. it doesn't have to be just shifter I read vampire atch as well so I would also appreciate them

Brittany | 321 comments I recently read L.E. Wilson deathless nights series and it had a lot of witty banter in it that had me laughing. This series is about vampires but there is a group of werewolves that are secondary characters that got their own spinoff series. I haven't read them yet but I recommend giving them a try just based on the authors writing style.
Blood Hunger is the first book in the vampire series
To Covet The Fae is the first book in the werewolf series.

MJ | 1354 comments Angie Fox might work?
Robyn Peterman has two series, one about were's, one about a new witch who gets dragged into the were world.

Christine Warren's The Others series has some shape shifters in it. I started reading them originally for the titles. She's No Faerie Princess You're So Vein Prince Charming Doesn't Live Here and any number of others. (What can I say--sometimes that title is enough to drag you in. I also bought--and read--Bimbos of the Death Sun just for that title and cover Bimbos of the Death Sun by Sharyn McCrumb . And, despite the title, it isn't anything close to porno--it's actually a murder mystery set at a sci-fi/gaming con...... And there was a second book called Zombies of the Gene Pool (Jay Omega, #2) by Sharyn McCrumb Zombies of the Gene Pool

Joseph (bluemanticore) | 441 comments I recommend Molly Harper's Jane Jameson series. The first book is Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs.

Dani | 31 comments The Grey Wolves series by Quinn Loftis had me laughing out loud. It's a YA series but it has action and age appropriate romance. I reread it at least once a year.

Rosa (rosaiglarsh) | 5099 comments Here Kitty, Kitty! sounds ridiculous.

message 13: by Bunnycore (new)

Bunnycore Here kitty kitty is the third book it's actually really good. The Magnus Pack series is really good. Funny in a sarcastic witty kind of way.

Delicate Freakn' Flower (Freakn' Shifters, #1) by Eve Langlais Elements of Mischief (Hijinks Harem, #1) by C.M. Stunich

I was going to stand up for Here Kitty, Kitty! too Bunnycore since I loved it also. The blurbs on the covers of the 3 Magnus Pack books don't do them justice. After them, you get into the REST of that world. And all the books are wonderful. Especially Beast Behaving Badly (7ft+ as human singing songs from a really bad movie from the 1970's with his 5'6" girlfriend while both are nude and a snowstorm goes on outside. WONDERFUL.) But then, I do love Bo anyway. And I also loved Blayne in the previous book. This is the book where she gets to shine.

message 17: by Marie (new)

Marie | 276 comments Obviously, the Kitty Norville series by Carrie Vaughn, although... it has a good amount of both comedy and drama, but the drama definitely outweighs the comedy in my opinion

I loved the first one tho Pack Challenge

“You're trying to make me crazy, aren't you?"

"Not at all." Sara put her bowl down. "I'm just saying there could be bunny shifters."

"THERE ARE NO BUNNY SHIFTERS!"

Shaking her head she accused, "You're a bunny bigot."

Zach threw his spoon back in the near-empty bowl. "And there is no such thing as bunny bigots."

"Bunny bigot," she accused again.”

best quote ever hehehe....

Jessica (jessicalynfox) | 180 comments Definitely Laurenston. Absolute best, but a warning, it ruined me, no other shifter book is as funny. Also check out her The Unleashing (Call of Crows, #1) by Shelly Laurenston and Kresley Cole. Shifters in her books, but not exclusively shifter.

Also, The Mating (Law of the Lycans, #1) by Nicky Charles somw of these are even free. Well written
Feral Sins (The Phoenix Pack, #1) by Suzanne Wright lady characters are always witty and very self sufficient badasses.

Ascension (Cherchez Wolf Pack, #1) by Lauren Dane

Freakn' Shifters Bundle (Freakn' Shifters, #1-3) by Eve Langlais funny and ridiculous, but good none the less.

The Wallflower (Halle Pumas, #1) by Dana Marie Bell

All of these are series. I have more if needed.

Jessica (jessicalynfox) | 180 comments I just looked at your shelves. You need to look through my read books. I read predominately paranormal romance.

Gena Showalter Lords Of The Underworld 10 Books Collection Pack Set by Gena Showalter funny, demons, steong ladies, characters have frequent appearences in future books. Read this.

The Dark-Hunters The Collection Thus Far (Dark-Hunter, #1-22) by Sherrilyn Kenyon lots of books. Demons, vampires, shifters, gods and geddesses. Amazing series, long series.

Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward vampire, funny

message 21: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 321 comments I just remembered Tenaya Jayne's Forbidden Forest and Forest Fire were very funny.

message 22: by Bunnycore (new)

Bunnycore I bought this a couple of weeks ago. I been holding onto it because.. well I dunno just because.. I'm going to have to read it soon. The Unleashing (Call of Crows, #1) by Shelly Laurenston

I don't think Georgette St. Clair Georgette St.. Clair has been mentioned yet. She has a gazillion shifter books and they all follow the formula of mismatched couple pairings and funny banter. If you haven't read any of hers start with "The Alpha Meets His Match", it's the 1st in a fun series full of misfits. I was just commenting in another post on the heroine of the 2nd book, her name is Pixie and she's a human street thief and a con artist who just attached herself to this group of shifters whether they wanted her around or not. She's a riot!

The Alpha Meets His Match (Shifters Inc., #1) by Georgette St. Clair The Alpha Meets His Match by Georgette St. Clair

Pixie The Lion Tamer (Shifters, Inc. #3) by Georgette St. Clair Pixie The Lion Tamer by Georgette St. Clair

Also, what about N.J. Walters? N.J. Walters Have you read any of her books? Slightly less humor but definitely not overly serious. Read "Damek's Redemption", followed by "Craig's Heart". There are vampires, humans, and shifters in these books. But the reason I say to go for these two first is because they can easily stand on their own without reading the entire series AND both books put together offer one of the most adorable Bro-mances I've ever read! To be clear, it is just a friendship between the guys, in each of these books the hero meets his female mate/love interest.

Damek's Redemption (Legacy, #6) by N.J. Walters , Damek's Redemption by N.J. Walters

Craig's Heart (Legacy, #7) by N.J. Walters Craig's Heart by N.J. Walters

I also agree a thousand times over with the votes for Shelly Laurenston, Suzanne Wright, and Celia Kyle.

Dana Marie Bell and Jennifer Ashley are really good for shifter romance too.

Oh yeah! I'll second that vote. The heroine is awesome, she's so outspoken and quirky and she's super smart, a hacker or something tech related.
