I LOVE Charles Lenox! In fact, I have the next 4 in the series and can't wait to read them! I have had this set for a while and don't know
why I haven't started it before. He likes the same things I do - a fire in the fireplace, a pot of tea, and lots of good books!

After listening to the first two, which were all my library had, I had to submit special requests for the next four on CD. It took a month or two for the CDs to arrive, but it was worth it! They purchased the next books, at my request. I am patiently waiting for the next book.😊

I read only A Stranger in Mayfair out of place last year because of the purple cover (amatiste my stone) and loved Charles Lenox. I like how well the atmosphere is built. I will start the series one day. Maybe the crab in this year challenge is a good excuse. :)

That is exactly what got me to pick it up! I had it on my TBR stack and when I saw the Crab that could have Blue in the title, I picked it up. This challenge is so good for me - I read a lot of things on my TBR that have been sitting here forever waiting for me!

Hi Cherie,
I think you will really like the Inspector Gamache books. I have read all of them up to and including the one listed above, and I think I have three more to go. I really enjoy the whole Canadian/French Canadian flavor to them, and the mysteries are great. What makes them so good is that you see the main characters as real people that you can imagine knowing, not just as two-dimensional characters on the page. When you have finished one of these, you find yourself wondering what the characters are doing now.....-lol.

Oh, Rusalka, what a story! When I started this book, I thought it was a little slow because there are a lot of characters and you have to get to know them at the beginning. But wow - then the story takes off and you find yourself flipping the pages to find out what happens. You think you have all the relationships (plot-wise) between the characters figured out, when all of sudden something changes the direction of where you think things are going, and you are off in a direction you never expected. I think you will like it, if one can be said to 'like' a story with some evil characters and lots of tragedy in it. The plot threads concluded in unexpected ways, but all in all it was a satisfying read.
