message 2: by Juliaoak (new)

Juliaoak | 5 comments Well I had a good start to the year then my reading slowed down a bit so I am not quite half way through my list yet. I have made quite a few changes as I thought I would.

I have found some new authors and really enjoyed their books:
Ben Aaronovitch - The rivers of London series. I loved this different take on a detective series involving 'ghosts from the past'. I have since read the second book in that series but it is not part of the challenge.
I loved Caraval by Stephanie Garber.
I also enjoyed the next book in Lucinda Riley's seven sisters series - The Pearl sister - these books are fascinating and I love all the history attached to them.

There is one book that I am finding it really difficult to get moving through - The mysteries of udolpho - there is a lot of descriptive work but it seems to be a bit too descriptive ha ha! Probably something to do with the time it was written I think. Anyway I will persevere and see how I get on.
