"With a steady hand and several fine-point brushes, Miami-based artist Jason Seife produces paintings that mimic the ornate patterns found in Persian carpets. Seife presents the same geometric symmetry seen in historic designs, yet takes his own liberties with the colors of ink and acrylic paint chosen for each work. The vibrant hues selected are not ones traditionally found in Persian textiles, but are his way to imbue his own state of mind into each piece."

Tracey (stewartry) | 0 comments Stunning! Talk about trompe l'oiel. (I wish I'd thought of that for my trompe class in art school.) So - basically my choices are to spend a huge amount of money to buy a gorgeous Persian carpet, or spend a huge amount of time to paint one! (Or, presumably, spend an equally huge amount of money on something someone else spent a huge amount of time painting... No price on the one work on the gallery's website, but I can imagine.)

Heather | 8271 comments I'm not a huge fan of sleeve tattoos, but it seems that his arm is kind of symbolic of what he does. Fascinating!
