Maggie | 130 comments This year my goal is 36 books. I tried to do the 52 book challenge this year but fell short due to having little time to read how I want. I figured 36 is a good balance between easy and a challenge, and if I go above that fantastic!

message 2: by Susy (new)

Susy (susysstories) Sounds good Maggie! Wishing you the best of luck but above all I wish you a very happy reading year!!

message 3: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 459 comments Good luck! 36 does seem like a nice manageable pace!!

message 4: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 130 comments Thanks! I'm in a few challenges and if I actually do them all I'll go over the 36. But as far as the "official" Goodreads challenge goes I'm setting it up for 36.

Same here. If I complete all my goals and challenges I'll surpass my Goodreads Challenge goal.

Maggie | 130 comments Also began The Picture of Dorian Graybut only got about five pages in. My son gave me whatever funk he had but extra bonus I also broke out in hives. Was on the couch all day wishing the day would end.

So today its time to catch up a bit!

Maggie | 130 comments Made good progress in All the Light We Cannot See and A Joyful Break. Could probably finish one tonight if I motivate myself.

A Joyful Break is decent for a free kindle book. But im getting annoyed with the forced Pennsylvanian Dutch.

Blagica | 12028 comments Awesome progress in the first month Maggie you are doing great!

message 23: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 130 comments Thank you! I appreciate the encouragement :)

message 24: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 130 comments Cutting back my TV time has definitely helped with my reading. It was hard at first because I was getting really addicted to tv. I definitely still love watching shows, but instead of watching 3-4 a day I usually watch 1 and spend the rest of that time reading.

It also encourages my kids to want more books read to them, and watch less shows. TV definitely isn't bad but I don't want it to rule my life.

message 25: by Susy (new)

Susy (susysstories) Sounds great Maggie! I’m trying to do the same but when I’ve had a hard day at work, it’s easier to just watch tv because I’m too tired to concentrate on what I’m reading....

message 26: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 130 comments I totally get that. I do most of my tv watching at night because my brain is all "Ahhhhh nooooo" and I can't process trying to read a book.

1.) Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
2.)Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo
3.) Lord of Shadows bt Cassandra Clare
4.) Beauty and the Beast: Lost in a Book by Jennifer Donnelly
5.) Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes.

Going to finish the two Grisha books because I've gotten really into them. Then get back to my TBR and then read another one of these.

message 37: by Grey (new)

Grey Klee (variegatedspoonie) | 1 comments I have the Percy Jackson's Greek Gods book. It's the only book I have bought on my own that's a coffee table book.
