January 2018 ~ All Time Favorites!
Just have people run amok. I know with some people, they might have the book already and this is their incentive to finally read it. Or, in some cases, like fifty of the same books, just unread. lol (Or in our cases, we'd have all these similar bully books read and glare at each other for not having a new bully book available. :P ) Each of us are so different that, what might be awesome for one will be horrible for another.
I am soooooo in on this one. I vote for running amok....cuz that's what I do best!!!
ummm, that's not exactly what I had in mind ???I was thinking more along the lines of each of us making a favorites list (if we don't already have one) then
for example - In January
Leslie reads one of Fabi's favorites
Tessa reads one of Grey's favorites
Fabi reads one of Rennee's favorites
etc.
It would change each month (or not, depending on the names the randomizer picks)
We should probably, maybe, include a link to the shelf we want to use as our favorites list?

I vote we choose one person and dig in to their Favorites List each month...if I get a vote. In my mind, I do, but in real life it's seldom that way, LOL

I love a list but i know i would not really check out a large shelf/shelves.
Plus, what if one month it is one of those odd times when everyone disappears for awhile? So maybe 12 read Grey's but 3 read Leslie's. I know I am over thinking it and not joining in so feel free to ignore.

No, I agree with you, bev. and pouts that you're not joining in the fun.
That's why I said everyone has to post with their intent to participate in the thread in the few days before the month begins... that way we can throw them into the randomizer that month, to see if they would be chosen to be the "honoree" LOL! I don't know... it's so confusing my way. I think Fabi's way is better now that she was the voice of reason, haha!
Yeah, I also agree, that's why I pared my list down to my All Time Favorites, instead of just using my 5 stars shelf. These are my top top top favorites, LOL!

Ugh Tessa! Now I feel like I have to narrow mine down too! I was being lazy and just using my Favorites Shelf!

I started to make one and got frustrated because my list of five stars would reset itself and I'd have to start searching all over again. Ok, I am not sure I understand. Do I get to chose what I want to read off whoever I am paired with list or will they chose the book? I think the pairs is what is confusing me. Sorry, it doesnt take much. 😕I thought the plan was that one of us would be randomly chosen each month then the rest of us would pick a fave of the chosen one to read that month.

Ok, this is what my original post said... I saved it in my email, just in case...
Anyway, the rules of this challenge are pretty simple.
1) Between the 26th and the 29th of December, members express their interest in participating in the ATF challenge during January.
2) Sometime between 30th- 31st of December it will be randomized by one of our illustrious randomizers to see who the lucky 1st woman of honor will be.
3) She will post the link to her All Time Favorite Books list (which could be her 5 stars list... or it could be something new that she makes up specifically for this challenge, however, it should include at least 10 books). I will also link it here in this first post.
4) Then this is where it gets fun... the honoree could deign to 'help' pick a book for each of us that are participating to read from that list that we haven't read, if we have it or can easily get our hands on it. Or...she could just let us run amok and pick from all of her favorite choices.
I vote for Grey's original way. One honoree. We all pick from their fave's list and run amok picking what we want (unless we need help from the honoree to narrow it down for us).
Agreed! I need to make a separate list I think. There are over 200 on my favorites shelf. I have until tomorrow right?

I like amok. What's the movie? Haha amok makes me think of an *ancient* episode of the Star Trek TV series called (I think) Amok Time when the very proper Mr Spock goes all sexy and crazy. Huh. haven't watched that show in years, but I was mad for it as a teenager. I might look that episode up in netflix for a laugh. From memory it was embarrassingly bad the first time I saw it, so I can't imagine how dated it will look now LOL.I have updated/ expanded my current favs shelf to include more and a broader range in case you guys have to go amok there. Put some 4 stars in there as well, but you know I'm a hard marker hee hee.
The movie is Hocus Pocus. It's a Halloween movie that's iconic here. It's about a teen who moves to the city of Salem who unwittingly releases three evil witches. It's better than I make it sound.

I only have about 30 on my all-time favorites shelf. Maybe I need to make a new shelf with all of my five star reads so there's more of a selection?
I just looked at your list Jean and I'm going to have a hard time picking just one. Yes, I've read a lot of them but there are many more that I want to read.I can't wait to get started.
