I see that Fantasy is the main genre listed, so yes, it would fit.

I will try to join in, I'll have to see if I have any actual fantasy rather than sci fi though LOL!
I am reading Grey Sister right now. It is listed, on it's page, as fantasy. It is set in the future, on another planet however. I believe I used the book before it in the series as sci fi, because of this setting... Would it count for this challenge do you think? There is magic, and that is the main focus of the book, so I am not really sure...
Jenny, if it has magic and set in a fictional realm, even in the future, I think it is fantasy. Especially since it is considered Fantasy by goodreads. Usually science fiction is more technology oriented.
Am I right, Allison?
Am I right, Allison?
Yes, I'd say the magic being a main focus makes it both Fantasy and Sci Fi, which can count for this challenge, especially if Goodreads has Fantasy as one of the top genres.
That would make sense, Rose. I know it is mentioned that the ancestors of the people came to that planet on spaceships and that the stars are slowly dying out, that is why I put it in sci fi to start with, plus the library shelved it as such. But, again that is only mentioned to set up the ship hearts, which increase mages powers and why not everyone uses magic... And I am goanna stop now before I talk for hours haha. I love that series if you can't tell :)
I have read two books for this challenge now
