TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments **Mel's Plot**

Muse A is a medium who runs on the right wavelength to contact/help crossover 'upgraded' humans. She had no idea that she was special, a regular 9 to 5 grunt worker, content with her life until she was haunted, at her new home, by the former tenant (Muse B = Casper the friendly ghost though not literally LOL).

Muse A becomes Muse B's anchor and they grow close, til one random day Muse B poofs into thin air.

Unbeknown to Muse A, there's been a company gathering upgraded humans for nefarious purposes. They got a hold of Muse B's body and have managed to revive him, because of his power (no idea what that power is, but its important enough for the bad guys to go Frankenstein on his butt or give the dude a little sip from the fountain of life).

Somewhere along the line, when the bad guys put Humpty Dumpty back together again things didn't go according to plan so he might remember bits and pieces of when he was dead and hanging around Muse A, or he might not, the choice is up to you.

Mel | 34 comments Character name: Amaleah ‘Leah’ Harris
Aliases: None
Age: 24
Occupation: Botanist/Florist
Height: 5’4’’
Weight: 125
Hair: Red
Eyes: Light blue/green

History: Leah was born to the Harris line, an affluent family with ties to the elite.

Her father, Philippe Harris, was crazy about her and spoiled her rotten from the get-go, whenever his work allowed him to be around that is. Her mother, Karen Harris, pushed Amaleah to take on her own interests, as to live vicariously through her daughter.

((Fun fact: Mrs. Harris is the only person who has ever called Leah by her full name)).

Thankfully Leah took to ballet like a duck to water, loving the dance and the challenges that came with it. She quickly climbed the ranks of the various studios where she danced until she made it into the most prestigious ballet troupe in her home state.

Her time in the spotlight, however, was short-lived. At age 17 Leah landed in the hospital due to a car accident. She was in a coma for several months before regaining consciousness.

Her parents, wanting what was best for their daughter and her rehabilitation, agreed to send her to Europe, to a medical facility specializing in cases like hers.

The idea was for Leah to come back a few years later, fully healed and no one would be the wiser that she had been so badly hurt to begin with.

While in Europe Leah discovered that she had an innate love for nature, more importantly, plants and flowers, and decided to study for it. She went to college, first taking courses online as she recuperated from her injuries and then going for the full on-campus experience. She dropped her mother’s idea to retake ballet once she had healed enough ((very much against her mother’s wishes)) and graduated with a Biology major, specializing in botany.

At age 23, Leah returned home after her father had suffered a heart attack. After he passed away Leah’s mother admitted that she had never been interested in fulfilling the role of mother and when she made it clear that she was ready to remarry ((her longtime lover was waiting in the wings)) immediately after becoming a widow, Leah decided to cut all ties with Mrs. Harris and return to her life and her flower shop.

Although Leah came from a home of obvious wealth, because both her parents were mostly absent, due to work or more illicit activities, she was brought up by the staff, which gave her a strong sense of work etiquette, respect, and humility.

Unknown to Leah she is part of the branch of the upgraded human race that evolved into having powers. Leah happens to be a medium attuned to the ‘upgraded human’ brain-waves station, which allows her to communicate with the spirits of people like her. A side effect of her power is acquiring the power of the ghost she helps move on.

Mel | 34 comments I was not lying when I said I was brand new to the site. So, yes, I will admit, it took me THAT long to figure out the code. Well, that and finding a good picture, but still!

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Oh I still have no bloody hell how to use that damn thing and I've been on here since 2012 xD I've tried, it never worked for me :p

message 9: by Mel (new)

Mel | 34 comments I'm glad you like her. :)

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments ^^

So, where were you thinking of starting this off at? Any spot I . particular peak your interest?

message 11: by Mel (new)

Mel | 34 comments I was thinking, since we talked a little bit about taking Evil Inc out of the equation, maybe just start with Emmett waking up? Would that give you room to work with?

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Yeah, but wouldn't it actually be better to start where he talks to your girl as a ghost? So we can develop the relationship with them??

message 13: by Mel (new)

Mel | 34 comments Sure! That sounds good.

His Bio said he was playful and a jokester, how about we use that to set the scene? Like say he has been hanging around a particular person after his death, could've been haunting them 100% going full-on poltergeist on them or more of a subtle 'boo' every once in a while, just to mess with their head, and said person comes into Leah's flower shop, for whatever reason?

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Yeah sure, sounds like something he would totally do lol

message 15: by Mel (new)

Mel | 34 comments Sweet! Do you want to start us off?

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Sure!

Emmett laughed softly as the girl continued to try to fix her hair as she walked, the same piece of her hair that he kept on messing up. It was kinda funny, just messing around with people sometimes and this particular girl was rather interesting with it. He had been dead for 5 years and one would think he would be with his family. Well, he had been down to his adoptive family's house time and time again and he got sick of watching them mope around. So he'd go there every once in a while to check up, not move anything though since he knew Ulrich would freak out for sure. So he just decided he'd play around with some people, not do any real harm of course, just small things, like messing with the girls hair....which she was still trying to fix as he entered a flower shop.

Mel | 34 comments “Welcome to Blooming things. Be with you in a second!”

It was a woman’s voice, coming from the general direction of the refrigerator units, their glass doors showing off the already made flower arrangements for sale, in all their vibrant mix of colors. There was a row of three units, against one of the walls, and at the very last one, close to the small counter where the register waited, there was a figure, half out half disappearing into the big fridge.

From the waist up there was just the fridge itself, making it seem like all there was to the woman was a pair of jean encased legs and Converse high top shoes, in bright turquoise color.

After a series of loud clangs, the fridge seemed to sputter a few times before the sound turned into the contented electrical humming from the other two units.

“Hah! Gotcha working, you little bugger!”

There was joy plastered on her youthful face once she had emerged from the depths of the fridge she had been tinkering with. She had a wrench, on one hand, her curly red hair in a disarrayed bun on top of her head, her uniform polo shirt had a big wet spot at the front, aiding her ‘messy’ look.

But the smile on her face? That was genuine and bright.

“What can I do for you, today?” She asked, looking first towards the woman and then settling her green eyes on the woman’s companion.

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Emmett looked around the shop that the woman came into, raising his eyebrows a little bit as he looked towards her, leaning closer to her ear.
"What are you doing in here for? Getting flowers for your high school friend in the hospital that you haven't spoken to in 5 years?" he asked with a chuckle, shaking his head. Of course, she could not hear him and she simply waited, looking around a bit herself until someone came. She offered her a small smile, clearing her throat a bit.

"A friend of mine is in the hospital and I wanted to get her a bouquet of flowers. Just like a mixture I suppose you guys sell vases?" she asked, seeming pretty confused about the whole flower thing. Emmett looked at the girl, checking her out for a moment but he did not catch the fact that she looked almost right at him. He just crossed his arms over his chest and whistled, bumping the girl gently with his hip, causing her to slightly loose her footing and sway off to one side, but she caught herself easily. He chuckled a bit and started walking around the store.

message 19: by Mel (new)

Mel | 34 comments “I can certainly help you out with that.”

The reply was almost automatic, a few years of having her own business meant there were some phrases that just rolled off the tongue.

“We have several options, arrangements already prepared are over here in these units, but if you want to build one from the ground up, so to speak, we can certainly do that too. We do have a small assortment of vases for you to choose from, we could also add a ‘get well soon’ balloon if you wanted. Does your friend have any allergies I might need to keep in mind while helping you choose?”

The quick once over Leah gave the guy was marred with a frown of confusion. It was as if he was intentionally trying to mess with the girl he’d come in with and the woman seemed to be none the wiser to his existence.

‘If this is her giving him the silent treatment,’ Leah thought to herself ‘this girl has some serious game going.’

Even though most of her attention was on her main customer Leah kept her ears open and the corner of her eyes sharp, aware of the third person in her surrounding.

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments "Um, no, none that I'm aware of," the girl replied to her with a small nod, biting her lip slightly and looking over at where a lot of the flowers were arranged,"I know her favorite color is blue."

"You mean her favorite color was blue back in high school. Chick, you haven't seen her in 5years, you had to even look up what her last name was for Christ Sake!" Emmett said to her with a roll of his eyes, blowing on a flower near the girl to make it brush her arm, her jumping a bit,"Get out of this dump, go buy her chocolate instead." The girl seemed 100% unaware of his words and actions as she looked around at some of the flowers.

"I was thinking....maybe 3 or 4 different types?" she suggested to the girl, Leah, as she read on her name tag.

"3 or 4 different types of boring," Emmett muttered, obviously very bored. He walked over to the counter and looked around, going behind it and looking down where the cash register was."I never did figure out how to open one of these. Weird, you'd think I'd just be able to stick my hand in it and unlock it somehow."

message 21: by Mel (new)

Mel | 34 comments ‘Oh joy of joys, a heckler!’ Leah thought to herself, fighting down the urge to roll her eyes at the man who had come in with her customer.

“We have an arrangement that I think would work for you,” she said, motioning for the girl to follow her towards one of the refrigerated units where she pointed at a beautiful assortment of flowers.

“This one is fairly popular,” she said pointing at a specific row of arrangements. “It brings four different kinds, just like you were thinking; White lilies, yellow roses, blue delphiniums and purple monte casinos. So there is plenty of blue in there, for her favorite color, but the yellow from the roses and the white from the lilies pulls it all together without it being overwhelming. And it already has a keepsake glass vase”

The gall of mister heckler was really getting into Leah’s nerves, so when he made his way towards the cash register she was about two seconds away from snapping.

“Why don’t you go ahead and take a closer look at the arrangement and let me know if this one will work or if you’d want something different. Excuse me for a second,” she said before moving purposely towards the cash register.

Her eyes were blazing as she approached, arms crossed.

“Can I help you?” The words were not a whisper, they were much more of a warning hiss, directed at the man currently studying her cash register.

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments The girl followed her around the store, listening to everything that she was saying. She was slightly nodding her head as she listened, not completely understanding, but that was because she wasn't knowledgeable all that well in flowers. Whatever looked good would make her happy though.

"Okay," she replied when the girl went off to go do...whatever it was that she was going to do and she just kept on looking in the refrigerators that she mentioned to her. Meanwhile, Emmett was still over near the cash register, having no real reason to even try to open it. It wasn't like it was going to do him any good. He was about to walk away when the woman came right up to him and him. Right at him. His jaw dropped open as he looked at her with wide eyes, turning to see if there was someone else there, but there wasn't.

"Wait wait can....see me?" he asked, pointing to himself. He looked pretty much like a normal person from far away, not very ghostly. However up close and personal, Leah would be able to tell that he was slightly translucence and she was able to see the cars moving on the street behind him through him. There was also clear evidence when she got closer to him that he had been injured, the leather jacket he was wearing was completely torn on his left arm showing his skin that was all scratched up. His leans were also ripped in various places, showing more cuts there and there was a thin line of blood trailing down the left side of his cheek, most of it covered up by his hair and it went down pact his neck, disappearing into his shirt.

message 23: by Mel (new)

Mel | 34 comments “Of course I can see you,” the reply was immediate, accompanied by the quirk of an eyebrow on her part. “You’re dangerously close to the cash register and since I run such a ‘dump’ I need to keep an eye on every cent I make.”

It was only when she actually there, right by the counter, that her eyes caught his lack of solidity. The rest of the room was still as it had been all around them, but the guy before her… she could see traffic through his body!

She actually had to do a double take, glancing towards the girl he’d come in with, thinking this had to be a trick of the lights in her store but when she turned her attention back to him, once again, there was only more proof that he wasn’t an ordinary person.

In fact, the chill that ran down her spine told her this encounter was very, very wrong.

“What the hell?” Her hand on the counter keeping her up right, for the most part, when her knees wobbled as she took him fully in. This was as far as it got from a flirty ‘once over’, her green eyes conveying horror at his state. “You-you-you’re, I’m not really sure what you are but you’re...bleeding, sort of? Wha..?”

The anger and annoyance, from before, were long gone from her voice, replaced instead complete confusion and awe.

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Emmett was continued to be shocked by this, having no idea that there was anyone out there that would be able to see him at all. He didn't think he was possible! After all, he had been this way for 5 years, never able to get help or to get answers as to why he was still here, living as a freaking ghost. He blinked at her as she finally started to take him in a little bit and understand that he wasn't like others. Though that got him thinking of the girl he had been following around and he glanced over at her.

She was looking at Leah, her face confused and her eyes wide. Of course, since she couldn't seen Emmett, it just looked like the other woman was talking to herself. She had been inspecting some flowers, but she quickly put them down. Opening her mouth, she tried to say something, but it came out stuttered. Finally, she just made a beeline for the door, leaving quick like it was on fire or something and not looking back.

"Well, you scared her off pretty quick there girly. Never seen her scared before, except at the price tags for that $1,000 purse she was looking to get," Emmett laughed softly, walking away from the counter, but not only did he walk away from it, he walked through it. It wasn't something he liked to do very often since it felt uncomfortable, but he could. And he did just to show Leah that he was indeed what she was probably suspecting he was."So, how long have you been able to see us? Or people like me? You know, ghosts?"

message 25: by Mel (new)

Mel | 34 comments “Shit!”

Turning on her heels Leah was quick enough to witness the girl high tailing it out of her shop, like a bat out of hell.

And as if losing the customer, and probably having said customer give some colorful reviews to everyone she met regarding Leah and her store, wasn’t bad enough, the guy she was talking to decided it would be ‘no biggie’ to walk through the counter.

Not around it. Not jump and slide over it with swagger. No. Through the damned thing, exploding all the laws of physics and whatever other sciences dealt with energy not being able to occupy the same space.

Instinctively Leah took a few steps back, keeping her eyes focused on the guy for a long moment before turning and heading for the door. Once there she flipped the sign from ‘open’ to ‘closed’ and did all the locks on the door.

“This cannot be happening,” she muttered, resting her forehead on the wooden door with enough pressure to cause a little bit of pain. “Breathe, just breathe.”

She wasn’t sure what she aimed to achieve but when she turned once more the guy was still there. No matter how many times she blinked, or discreetly pinched her arm, he wasn’t fading away.

“This can not be happening. I don’t see ghosts. I never have!”

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Emmett did think it was pretty funny how the girl reacted, how Leah did. He smirked a little bit as he watched her running around to close up shop, looking down at his nails and leaning against the wall like it was just another day for him. But, of course, it wasn't. This was the first person that was able to see him and it was amazing, he never thought that he would find someone that could possibly see him. But he did.

"You never have? Really?" he asked, raising his eyebrows a little bit. So he was the first one then, huh? That's odd...He frowned a little and moved away from the wall, starting to walk around the store a little more and looking at the flowers that the girl who ran the hell away was.

"Great, you're the first person that can actually see me and you're just as freaked out as the girl who watched you talk to yourself," he said, frowning a bit, but he was also pouting. It did kinda suck, it sucked a lot. Cause he got his hopes up for nothing. Then again, what the hell did he have hopes up for anyways?

message 27: by Mel (new)

Mel | 34 comments “Well, I’m sorry, but aside from freaking out I don’t really think there is another appropriate reaction to this thing!”

There was something almost annoying regarding his attitude. As if he was the one being somehow wronged in this whole deal simply because she wasn’t welcoming this new skill of hers with open arms.

“I don’t know if it’s because you’re not alive anymore, and you’re somehow removed from those emotions, but when you take into consideration that I am talking to a freaking ghost for the first time in my life, an alive someone would find that situation very freaky! The girl that just ran out of here is the perfect example and yet she doesn’t have to deal with half of what I, apparently, do. So excuse me if I need an allotted amount of time to reasonably freak out before trying to figure out what in the hell is going on with my brain. Ok? Ok. Just, give me a freaking minute.”

That’s when the pacing started, on her part, along with the fidgeting of her hands and muttering under her breath.

The time for denial was obviously past, now, the more time she spent trying to run it all through her brain, the more she was going into problem-solving.

“Ok… Let’s start at the beginning. Do you have a name? And was there a particular reason why you were following that girl?”

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Emmett looked over at her when she started talking, his frown just deepening with every word she was saying. He had s bad temper when he was alive and his years of being dead didn't really do much to fix that.

"Well try to put yourself in my shoes. I've been dead for 5 years so I've been wandering around for 5 years with no one to talk to. No one that can see me and no one to care about me anymore. So sure, you can call me emotionless if you want, but you're the first person whose been able to see me in 5 years and you're just freaked out," he said, sighing a bit as he went away from the wall and continued to walk around. Yes, he logically knew if he was in her shoes, he'd be flipping. But he was in his own shoes, so he wasn't.

"My name is Emmett Moore, you might have heard of my family. My adoptive father won the lottery a long time ago and built a house in the woods for all his adoptive children to live in with the money he got. And I was just following her around for fun," he explained to her with a shrug of his shoulders.

message 29: by Mel (new)

Mel | 34 comments “All I’m saying is that it’s not my fault I didn’t wake up this morning going ‘Gee, wouldn’t it be super awesome to develop the skill to see dead people? That’d totally finish up the priority list of my life’.” she offered with a shake of her head, lifting her hands and hooking her fingers behind her neck for a long moment, doing nothing but watch him wander around her store.

“Look. I wasn’t prepared to see you and you were prepared to be seen but not reacted to. We either get over that and do some sort of truce or whatever this is, is going to get worse. I’ll drop the attitude if you do.”

It was easy to empathize. Years without actual interaction? That must’ve been terribly frustrating, not to mention lonely. And now, the first person that could see him really wasn’t all up to speed on the whole ‘seeing’ thing. Yes, she could understand how that was disappointing.

“I only moved to town about three years ago, I think I heard of your family in passing but that’s about it.” she offered and then, without thinking, lifted her right hand and offered it to him. “I’m Leah, Leah Harris… any idea what the hell we’re supposed to do now?”

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Emmett looked at her when she spoke again, his frown remaining on his face. He could be a fairly grumpy person, especially during confrontation. He never liked it, never liked needing to express his feelings to someone or work out problems. It was the biggest issue he and his adoptive father Ulrich had, he was just never willing to have a normal conversation with the man and always resorted to yelling. When Ulrich tried to tone it down, Emmett would never listen. He closed his eyes and couldn't stop himself from thinking about the last thing he ever said to the man.

'I wish my parents killed me so I wouldn't have to live with you!'

Of course, he never meant that, it was simply something that he said out of anger. Living with Ulrich was the best years of his life....and he fucked it up. He opened his eyes again when he heard Leah talk about moving into town and what her name was, shrugging his shoulders when she asked what they were suppose to do.

"Dunno. It's not like we need to stick around one another. You just happened to be the first person to see me and if you can see me, there are probably other people who can to. I was hoping to find some sort of medium, but there are none in this town and I can't leave Trenton. It won't let me," he replied, leaning against the wall again and crossing his arms over his chest,"I wanted to find someone that could see me so I can figure out why the hell I'm still stuck here. Since you're new to this though, it's not like you can exactly help me. So, I just gotta keep looking and hope one pops into town that can help."

message 31: by Mel (new)

Mel | 34 comments In all honesty, she shouldn’t have been surprised that he didn’t shake her hand. A) There was a good chance that they wouldn’t be able to touch because of his ‘dead’ status and B) He didn't quite strike her as the polite type. Still, it irked her a bit.

“Suit yourself.” She said, with a shrug of her shoulders, moving towards the refrigerator units once more. “Good luck and godspeed finding someone that can see you who knows what the hell they’re doing, God knows that ain’t me and you, obviously, need an expert.”

She could understand his frustration, or at least she thought she could at least sympathize with him but he was right. They didn't need to stick together, he had obviously discarded the idea of her helping him before even thinking about it, or just how long it might be before he could find someone else that could actually see him. Yes, she was inexperienced but if the ghost in her store had dialed down the attitude she would’ve been a bit more willing to figure out a way to aid him.

“You know where the door is, leave whenever. It’s not like you can’t walk through a locked door, after all.”

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Emmett expected her to made some sort of speech that she could help him, that she just needed a little bit of time to figure out how. That the two of them could work together on this. But no, that's not at all what she did. She basically kicked him out. He was more so angry at himself for thinking she would be willing to help him then her not actually willing. Yes, he knew he literally just said that he knew she couldn't....but he wanted her to be able to. But she couldn't.

"Whatever," he said as if he didn't care, but it did suck to need to walk away from someone who could actually help him. He just went over to the door, hesitating a moment and it looked like he was about to turn around and talk to her. But he just walked through the closed door, shivering when he got onto the other side of it.

"Damn that's uncomfortable," he muttered, looking around for something to do or someone to follow. He actually recognized someone right away from his family. Jamie, a nephew that he never got a chance to meet before he passed. He had been excited too when his brother West told him he was adopting a kid, he had wanted to meet Jamie. 3 days later he died. Sighing a bit, he crossed the street to where his nephew was and walked next to him, hating that he walked away and scared off the person who could see him. Frowning, he reached to take Jamie's hand, the teenager looked down at his hand as he sensed a presence on it. He seemed confused, but he didn't move his hand, probably not thinking much of it. Good, because Emmett didn't wanna move his hand.

Mel | 34 comments There was just no way that she was going to reopen her shop.

The ghost might’ve been gone but her state of mine was as far away from business as it could get, so she did the only smart thing to do. Making sure the alarm was set she moved to the back of the store and then took the circular stairwell, to the top floor of the two-story building.

Her apartment was as welcoming as always, with pops of color here and there but mostly made of calming green and blue decor. She was glad to change out of her soaked shirt, chucking her jeans and her shoes right after till she was in only her underwear. A pair of shorts and a tank top later she plopped her behind down on her couch, her trusty laptop already booting up.

Just because the first ghost she’d ever seen, sourly little thing that he was, had left that didn’t mean he’d be the last ghost she’d encounter. And if she had a choice, she’d rather be prepared instead of caught off guard, so scouring the internet for some answers was as good as any way to pass her newly found free afternoon.

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Again, Emmett found himself wandering around the town, now following his adoptive brother, Bailey, who was a police officer. He had a bit of free time at the moment, so he was walking around town, unaware of the ghost of his brother that was currently following him around. He was looking into a few shops, Emmett not really knowing where they were going until...

"Oh hell! Come on, they're flowers! They're just gonna die anyways!" Emmett practically yelled at his brother as he opened up the door to the same flower shop he was in a few days prior. Groaning, he crossed his arms over his chest and followed Bailey inside, who started looking around right away for someone that could help him.

Mel | 34 comments Leah was sitting behind the counter, on a bar stool, her fingers pausing over the keyboard of her laptop at the sound of the bell above the store’s door.

“Welcome to Blooming Things.”

The greeting slipped past her lips easy as she hopped off her seat, flipping the lid of her laptop closed, readying herself to take care of her customer. Her green eyes, as she rounded the corner of the counter, locked on the man instead of the surprising ghost that was following along.

“Anything I can help you find today?” She asked, keeping her eyes trained on the live customer and not his ghostly companion.

After all, her noticing his presence the last time had gone over oh so very well.

So there wouldn't be a lot of workers here. He did look over when the girl greeted him though and he smiled, nodded his head.

"Yes, I was looking for a mixture of flowers, it's for an anniversary of a death in my family today and I wanted to bring some flowers to the grave with me," he started off, looking at her,"I was thinking about some white lilies, some gardenias, some pink carnations and he liked yellow roses."

"Oh for God's sake! You really did your research on those huh? Even picked specific ones that mean stuff! You fucking sissy!" Emmett suddenly said to his brother, of course that could not hear him. He groaned, shaking his head a bit."And I only liked yellow roses cause their meaning was funny. The actual flower is ugly."

Mel | 34 comments “Those are pretty specific flowers, the arrangement will have to be handmade,” Leah offered, motioning with one of her hands for him to follow as she moved closer to the counter, once more.

Once she was there she picked up a notepad and pen, wrote down the flowers that he had mentioned and then underlined the word roses.

“There is lots of caring going on in this arrangement,” she said, smiling warmly at the man while ignoring the offended tone from Emmett. “Do you know how big you’d want the whole thing to be? Would a bouquet work or were you thinking something else?”

When her green gaze flickered towards Emmett, for a single moment, there was an unmistakable glint of mischief in her eye, which quickly refocused on the living man.

“Since it’s the anniversary of a death in your family I’ll tell you what, I actually caught a really good deal on roses this week, so if you want, we can use plenty of them on the arrangement, no extra charge. I’m sure the departed would've loved it.”

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Emmett knew what she was doing when she said that, he fricking knew what she was doing! He frowned heavily at her words and glared over at her.

"Why don't you pick on someone with skin and bones? Dick," he said to her, looking over at Bailey next,"I swear to God if you listen to her, you are not my brother anymore." Bailey did listen to her words and seemed to consider it for a moment before he just smiled, shaking his head a little bit.

"That's alright, I want it to be pretty much an equal amount of the different types of flowers anyways. Besides, I'm pretty much he only liked them because the meaning behind them was ironic," he replied to her with a shrug of his shoulders. Well, Bailey knew him better than Emmett thought. The two of them didn't get along very well when he was alive, that was just personal stuff really. He seemed to relax when he told her that and he started walking around the store a bit, annoyed. Why did he need to come to this flower shop of all the flower shops in town?! This one was so small! And it was run by the girl who freaked out when she saw him the first time. Having a displeased look on his face, he looked into some of the fridges where the flowers were and sighed heavily.

"Why couldn't you have just done what any normal person would do, grab a 6 pack of beer and sit on my grave and get drunk while talking to me? You don't need to be sappy with the damn flowers bro," he said to his brother who was busy listening to Leah.

Mel | 34 comments “I can prepare a bouquet like that, for you, no problem.” Leah offered and shook her head. “I may be a bit late but I am sorry for your loss,” she said, sounding completely sincere.

“The world does get a bit less fun when we lose people with a sense of humor, doesn’t it?”

There was a hint of personal pain to the question before she shook her head again and smiled once more.

“I will go grab some of the flowers from the back, the freshest ones I can find and start on the bouquet, once I’m halfway there I will bring it out here and you can see if it’s lacking anything and we can go from there. ”

With that, she reached over towards the register, locked it and pocketed the key before making her way into the back of the store to get started on her work.

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Bailey looked at her and he did smile a bit at her words, nodding his head.
"Thank you very much. I'll tell him the pretty young lady from the flower shop said that," he said and it was in no means meant to be flirtatious. Bailey was gay anyways, so that wouldn't work. He nodded and just started walking around the flower shop.

"No need to tell me that bro, I heard you," Emmett said and watched him walk around. He was going to stick around with him for a moment before he decided against it. Having seen where Leah went, he followed the same path that she took, finding her in the back. He was silent for a moment, just watching her move around before he spoke.

"That was a low blow with the flower offer lady. What happened to a little respect for the dead on the day that they died?" he questioned her as he came further into the room, looking at all the flowers that she had in here.

Mel | 34 comments Holding one of her hands up in the universal sign to wait a moment Leah quickly fished her cell phone from her pocket, along with a small Bluetooth earpiece. After she put her phone on silent she sat it down on the working table before her, off to the side, and then hooked the tech onto her ear.

“Hey,” She began, as if she had just started a phone conversation, the whole charade of having the earpiece in place just for the sake of safety, in case the customer decided to peek in the back while she talked to ‘herself’.

“So, you think that was mean-spirited of me? How about respect goes both ways?” she asked “Oh yeah, I’m a total Biatch, for sure. But, if you would, please rewind and take a look back at our previous conversations. Tell me, when exactly, there was a lack of snark, condescension towards me or my shop or just plain meanness in anything you have ever said to me. Aside from when you told me your name or asked me if I could see you I don't remember there ever being any respect between us. Don’t worry, though, I’ll wait while you think about it.”

And while she talked, she was working on gathering the flowers for the bouquet, making sure to pick not only the freshest of the bunch but also the best looking ones.

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Emmett listened to her words as he stood there, finding himself frowning more and more at her words. Yeah, he understood, he had been kinda mean towards her, but that was because he didn't know that she was listening to him the first time. He was silent for a couple of moment as he watched her work, sighing heavily and adjusting his weight to his other foot.

"Alright, look. We obviously got off on the wrong foot. And you know what, I'll be the one to admit it was my fault, I shouldn't have said that stuff to you. It was was stressful that the first person whose ever heard me didn't seem like they wanted anything to do with me," he said with a shrug of his shoulders, looking around almost awkwardly. It was pretty obvious he wasn't use to doing this, whether it was because it was just how he was or because he hadn't needed to do it in a while, who knows?

"The point I'm trying to make is I think we can help one another out, if you give me a chance," he said, leaning against the wall as he continued to watch her.

Mel | 34 comments Setting a bunch of flowers down on the table Leah settled her eyes on the ghost in her back room and listened. He looked so very uncomfortable apologizing without actually saying the word ‘sorry’, that she felt really bad for him.

“You were a jerk and I was no better in reaction. I think we can move past it,” she said and smiled, brightly at him. “Forgive and forget, as a present for today’s date.” she offered before turning her attention back to the flowers in front of her.

“Also, you will be happy to know, that I have been reading, a lot. Actually, almost obsessively since our last meeting. There is certainly an abundance of information on the internet regarding your situation and miscellaneous stuff that is needed to ‘deal’ with it. If you’re patient with me, I think we can figure it out.” she said and then looked around the room. “Ok, I know you’re not fond of them but any particulars you see around that you would suggest me?” she said, motioning with her hands around the room.

After all, it was his bouquet.

TeddyBear {HarpyAshe} **Well You Built Up A World Of Magic, Cause Your Real Life Is Tragic** (harpyashe) | 18690 comments Emmett listened to her words, hoping that she wouldn't be too difficult about it. Yes, he knew that he had been mean to...but she hadn't exactly been a pocket full of sunshine either! He just listened to her as he leaned up against the wall, at firs thinking he wasn't going to be forgiven, but a moment later, she said that he was. For now, anyways. Now he just needed to work on not pissing her off again accidentally.

"I'll be patient with you if you're patient with me. I've been told I can be an asshole sometimes so just sorta let me know if I start acting like one, okay?" he replied to her, then looked around. He wasn't really a huge fan of flowers to begin with, but he did see some red lilacs that he sorta liked.

"Those ones, I guess," he replied, red always having been a favorite color of his since it was both a beautiful and a strong color.

Mel | 34 comments “I will most certainly let you know if we’re approaching assholeville, feel free to do the same if we take a wrong turn and head towards bitchvale,” Leah offered, with a nod of her head and then went to pick up the red lilacs he pointed to. “Good choice, it gives the whole arrangement a pop of color.”

It took her less than ten minutes to finish the whole thing. Instead of stopping midway to show the customer outside she just went for it, cutting and primping, adding a bit of ribbon here and babies breath there until the mixture of flowers, along with the pops of red, was beautifully balanced.

It was only a medium sized bouquet but the precision and attention to detail that had obviously gone into it made it a bit of a piece of art.

“Whatcha think? Will it do? Not too girly?” she asked.
