Where does this book fit?
Sabrina wrote: What would you suggest for the prompt? I've been meaning to read it for a while but not sure which prompt would fit. Others have already made some good suggestions. Plus, there are the categories like a book set in a country that fascinates you, a book you meant to read in 2017 and didn't get to, favorite past prompt. If you're doing the advanced challenge, I'll recommend this book to you. I think the series is fantastic.
All right. My husband bought Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House and I am going to read it. Where does it fit? I have already read something for the alliteration prompt. Is it a political memoir - I guess I could pull that from the 2016 list......

Alliteration and published in 2018 ... or maybe a problem facing society? that's a stretch though.

If you don't like the cover, it can fit the ugly cover prompt!
Catherine wrote: "Persuasion? I've never read any Austen. Just curious if it fits any categories going into it..."It is my favourite Austen so I'll recommend it to you if you need to fill the recommendation prompt? Otherwise it could be ancestry if you're English, or a country which fascinates you? I feel like there must be a song out there with the word persuasion in the lyrics. The copy I have is really pretty but you might have an edition with an ugly cover?
If you don't mind really stretching a prompt, it is not set on the sea but a lot of the book takes place by the sea and there are a lot of naval officers as key characters.
Hope that helps!
I was thinking about putting Fire and Fury in the problem facing society prompt.....Or maybe you could find somewhere else for your alliteration book and put it in there.

I suppose it could also fit "song lyrics" (there are more than a few songs with "into the water" in the lyrics, I'm sure - I can immediately think of "He Lives In You" from Lion King 2). I don't suppose any of the characters are twins?

Classics are great for the "book mentioned in another book" prompt too! If you need specifics to feel comfortable using that prompt, there's a book called The Jane Austen Book Club. I haven't read it (but I saw the movie) and they mention all of her finished novels.
Would The Complete Tales and Poems of Winnie-the-Pooh work for anything besides the children's classic prompt. I've read them when I was a kid and really want to reread.
And Winnie the Pooh is a real stuffed bear. He's in the New York Public Library. Teddy Bears are people too.
Does anyone have any idea where the book Blood Sisters by Jane Corry could fit? I've seen a few songs that have the lyric "blood sister" in them, can I use it for the song lyrics prompt?
Blood, Sweat, and Pixels: The Triumphant, Turbulent Stories Behind How Video Games Are MadeWould this book work for a microhistory?
Jenn wrote: "Would The Complete Tales and Poems of Winnie-the-Pooh work for anything besides the children's classic prompt. And I gotta think there's been various theatre productions.

Does anyone know where Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine would fit other than book from a celebrity bookclub?
Stacey wrote: "Does anyone know where Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine would fit other than book from a celebrity bookclub?""Mental health", I think. (I've not read it myself but I get the impression that that's a part of it.)
Tara wrote: "Hi! I was dying to finally read Me Before You this year and didn't get around to it. Any ideas as to where it could fit with this challenge? My list is near complete but I'd be willing to swap!"Here are a few categories that Me Before You can fit into:
1. A Book Made Into a movie you've already seen
Movie is also called Me Before You and was done in 2016
7. A Book set in a country that fascinates you (Small Town in England)
10. A Book about death or grief (Will is grieving the loss of his former life before he became a Quadriplegic)
16. A Book about mental health
41. A Bestseller from the year you graduated high school (was a bestseller in 2016)
49. A Book about a Problem facing society today (view spoiler)
50. A Book recommended by someone else taking the challenge - ME! =)
Also there are now 2 additional books in this series that can fit different prompts as well!
After You
Still Me - fits published in 2018 which most people seem to be having trouble with
Tina wrote: "The Outsiders? Trying to make it fit. I could use it for my "meant to read in 2017", but I'd like to put something else there."The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton could count for the following imo:
1. A Book made into a movie you've already seen
It's also a 1983 film by the same name
10. A Book about death or grief
11. A Book by a female author that uses a male pseudonym (her publisher made her use her initials to hide the fact that she was female; it wasn't her choice to use her initials therefore I would totally consider it appropriate for this category)
36. A Book set in the decade you were born in (If anyone is born in the 60s - this is set in 1965)
49. A Book about a problem facing society today - Gang Violence!
50. A Book recommened by someone else taking the challenge - ME! =)
Johanne wrote: "@Tina: The Outsiders could also fit the 'book set in the decade you were born' if you're born in the 80's"Nadine wrote: "I think The Outsiders is set in the 60s. It was published in 1967."
The Outsiders is set in 1965. S.E. Hinton says so in the FAQ of her website.
The movie came out in 1983 though which is probably why Joanne thought it was set in the 80's
Hi Stacey, yeah my mistake, it was corrected earlier. I definitely thought 80's because of the movie, and then it's like 25 years since I read it... Aaaand I didn't do my research (ouch).
Where might Eragon fit? Haven't read it in years, and I've mostly forgotten the story so thought it'd be a good one to read this year!
Kai wrote: "Where might Eragon fit? Haven't read it in years, and I've mostly forgotten the story so thought it'd be a good one to read this year!"The obvious one is 'your favorite prompt from a previous year' because one of those is read a book written by an author under 30.
If you've seen the movie, there's also the 'movie you've already seen' prompt.
Or you could go to the 'ask for a recommendation' thread and see if someone would be willing to recommend it as a good book so you can use it to fill that prompt.
I just recently read two books, and I am needing assistance placing them within a prompt. Girls in the Garden - Lisa Jewell (thinking alliteration)
The Secrets You Keep - Kate White
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys.
Do you have any idea if A Million Junes fits any prompt this year? I am dying to read it but I am trying my best to stick to the challenge as well.
Samantha wrote: "anyone have any ideas for The Immortalists? I just started but am not sure where to squeeze it in.."I used the LGBTQ prompt for the Immortalist.

Thank you so much!
Andragel wrote: "Do you have any idea if A Million Junes fits any prompt this year? I am dying to read it but I am trying my best to stick to the challenge as well."This book would fit the category "a book about death of grief"
My cousin really wants me to start the Sigma Series by James Rollins. I kind of want to start it because I want something to be a le to talk about with them.Any idea which prompts Sandstorm by James Rollins would fit? Preferably not the one about a prompt from previous years.

How about the weather prompt?
Could I use The Magdalen Girls to fulfill the prompt: a book that is based on a real person? Even though it is based on multiple real people?

How long has your cousin been asking you to read it? You could use it as "book you meant to read in 2017"

Other than categories like "author with your name" or "local author" which may or may not work for you (I'm guessing "no" or you would've thought of them already!) I can't think of any categories these two would fit in. Before I Fallwas made into a movie - have you seen it? Then you could use that category ... It's been a few years since I read it, but maybe one of the characters in Feed was gay? The categories are tough this year!
