Looking for the title of a book that was set in or near Rochester, New York... I remember there being a bit about the Genesee river early on in the book and I think it might have had something to do with a rock band maybe, but I also remember there being some supernatural elements of the book (though my memory could be deceiving me here). I read it somewhere around 2007ish, give or take a year or two.

Can you tell us something about the main character(s) - age, gender, job/student, skills/interests, etc.?

I think it was more contemporary overall. If I remember correctly, there were some romantic elements. And targeted more toward teens (13/14- 17)
I think the main character was a male, late teens, I think he was in a band... a guitarist if I recall correctly. I also remember the cover having a dark cover pallet and I keep seeing a guitar on the cover the more I think about it. Also, I think the author was male as well, and from the same are as the setting of the book.
