Laura and I just became Goodreads librarians wherein we can update book info, covers, etc. I'm taking it slowly at first but I know Susan and Tanzanite are pretty up to snuff on the old Plaidy's to name one. If you can across a book that needs a cover, or missing plot info, etc. and you can provide some input please feel free to drop a note here and/or PM one of us. Thanks.

Now I have to see if I can figure out how to remove that photo of the bed from the MC Barnes book.....

Laura thanks to remind me!! I just finished Alison Weir´s books. On Friday, I finished Geneviève Chauvel. I am now following the author´s links kindly provided on Tanzanite´s blog.

Laura Tanzanite and Susan:
May I bother you once again? I need Rosemary´s (Rosemary Hawley Jarman) photo; book description of Crispin´s day and Cover of Glory (including cover). Any help will be appreciated.

Susan (boswellbaxter) | 418 comments I have an old hardback with a picture of Rosemary Hawley Jarman clutching a rather cute dog, who looks like a British relation of my own cairn terrier. I don't know how well it will scan, but let me know if you want me to try.

do you have the ISBN #? Sometimes that search is enough to find something on Amazon and/or Librarything.

message 11: by Susan (new)

Susan (boswellbaxter) | 418 comments Alas, this is a pre-ISBN copy of We Speak No Treason. It's a hardback edition, dated 1971 and published by Little, Brown.

message 12: by Laura (new)

Laura Susan, would you mind to scan this picture for us? Could you try please? Thank you so much!!
Misfit, I have already tried Wiki, FantasticFiction, Worldcat, BookTour. I will give another look at LibraryThing.

Never mind - I found a cover on Amazon (but no description - I'm still looking)- here is a link:
http://www.amazon.com/Crown-Glory-Ros...

If I have a picture you need saved on my computer, do you know how I would send it to you guys?

message 16: by Susan (new)

Susan (boswellbaxter) | 418 comments I believe that Crown of Glory is The King's Grey Mare under another title. Here's a description I found on Alibris:

The beauty of Elizabeth Woodville, a lady-in-waiting, attracts the interest of King Edward IV, but creates enemies for her at court.

ISBN: 051508932X/ ISBN-13: 9780515089325
Jove: 1987.

Susan (boswellbaxter) | 418 comments Oh, and here's a description from Crown of Glory on Abebooks that sounds like the actual back cover copy:

"In a fiery tempest of blood and passion, she challenged the raging heart of an empire. Elizabeth Woodville was a beautiful lady-in-waiting, a willful widow, a bewitching object of desire. Arousing the ire of court and commoners alike, her hypnotically seductive power captured the heart of King Edward IV ---- and enflamed the suspicion of ruthless enemies."

(It's too hot here in North Carolina to read about fiery tempests.)

Misfit how do you have the time to be involved in all these threads, follow blogs, read voraciously, go to the gym and work. What's your job? You amaze me!!!

Susan, I'm in construction supply and unfortunately its a bit slow these days. I cheat and peek on the net when I should be doing better things.

message 21: by Laura (new)

Laura sorry by the delay Susan and Tanzanite, but I worked last night (snif snif snif). Thank you all!! Susan I will check if Crown of Glory is The King's Grey Mare. If so, we can combine these editions despite that at Library of Congress doesn´t make this kind of mistake.

you are absolutely right, I found this note at WorldCat:

"A Jove book." Originally published as "The King's Grey Mare."

My husband and I are trying to help your business field as much as we can. We're still working on our new house, five years and still going. I'm a patient person. We moved in last September.

Brian (brianwainwright) | 149 comments 'In a fiery tempest of blood and passion, she challenged the raging heart of an empire.'

I wonder what empire that would be. OK, we nominally owned Ireland, but it was very nominal. Then there was Wales and Calais. Apart from that the 'empire' was a bit thin.

Mind you, England always claimed to be 'an empire in itself.' Too bad our politicians have forgotten that!

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) Well, I don't think they officially dropped the claim on France until about 1800 or so.
