Since it's such a quick read I'm flying through this. It's more of the same old, same old from Sookie (that's not a criticism); (view spoiler)[feuding weres, fairy great grandfathers and Jason being an inconsiderate ass). (hide spoiler)]

Question about the weres: (view spoiler)[Did anyone else get consfused about how many weres ere actually involved in the attempted takeover? Sookie mentioned four on the roof and I didn't see any mention of more before they attacked. I was thinking 'what, four of them?' and got a little confused before I just shrugged and assumed I missed a point somewhere where that was changed to over a dozen. (hide spoiler)]

The vampires:(view spoiler)[ OK, we have a new guy in charge. To be honest I'm sort of glad that happened offscreen without Sookie being in the middle of it. And Eric's got his memory back! I think we all know he's going to be trying to have that affair again, don't we? I hope she never thinks of trying it again with Bill (TV Bill was not attractive in my book (yes, I'm shallow)); however much he claims he loves her now, I wouldn't forgive him. (hide spoiler)]

BTW, am I the only one who thinks Bob makes a better cat than a person?

I've kind of learned that this series has no editor. (view spoiler)[I got the 4 on the roof thing and yes, I noticed that a bunch more just magically showed up. I just kind of go with it and force my brain to adjust.

Also, I hate the fairy parts. I was happier when Sookie was just a strange human. I don't need her to be supernatural.

Also, I too have always hated Bill as a love interest because TV Bill is so unattractive. Might also be why I love Eric so much. I can be shallow in books. I'm not ashamed. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 18:(view spoiler)[ Oh my God, Jason is THE WORST!! He knew what his wife was doing and deliberately set Sookie and Calvin Harris up to witness it and take the consequences. Oh, if I ever had any liking for him at all (which I didn't particularly) I certainly don't now!

How could he?! How could any man force his little sister to do that?! Ugh, what a selfish little prick!! I think he's just moved into first place in the list of 'people I don't like in Sookie Stackhouse'. I know you shouldn't wish bad things on people, even fictional people, but I'm hoping Sam or someone smacks him upside the head. (hide spoiler)]

Only up to Ch. 3, so not much going on yet, but I do wonder what the heck happened to her tiger boyfriend...

The celebrations after the were battles are kind of disgusting! I wish Sookie's Faery godmother would be more consistent with showing up to save her in life and death situations...

I enjoyed it, but I thought Sookie is turning into a selfish bitch, a bit... I am not liking that turn in her personality, although I did see it coming slowly in the past 2-3 books...

Ooo, and I also could have done perfectly well without her being all magical... I liked her just as she was in book one...

Finished last night and that is definitely a wrap on this series for me.

Queen of Louisiana (view spoiler)[I was pretty annoyed that after all the Queen of Louisiana setup and how she survived in the last book that she wasn’t even given an onscreen death. (hide spoiler)]

Jason is the worst. Although the punishment was pretty weak compared to everything else that happened.

Alcide (view spoiler)[ I would much rather have seen Alcide that control of the pack in a direct confrontation rather than involving some random other pack. I don’t know why she keeps introducing new characters when you know immediately that they are just going to get taken out. (hide spoiler)]

So final thoughts of the series is that it has really inconsistent worldbuilding and the characters as a whole were pretty annoying. Much preferred the tv series.
