Martin Perks (martinperks) | 214 comments Hi Renee,

I can't speak for myself, but I have heard a lot of people say it is well worth doing, but it is very expensive, according to the genre of your book, and the price the book is. If you go onto their site they give you the prices of the adverts and the genre and how many books you can expect to sell. My advice would be, if you can afford it, give it a go. But I think your book has to have certain requirements ie average star ratings of 4, number of reviews etc
regards Martin

Hi Rene - I have used Book Bub and you get great exposure that way. I had 22,000 downloads and then sold about $1200 worth of books in the next few weeks. If you give it away free (which I did) you risk a lot of silly or even cruel comments from competitors etc. Think carefully about pricing. Make sure you have a lot of reviews (20 plus) before putting it out there. Best, JS

BargainBooksy and Book Gorilla are other cheaper alternatives that also yield a good return.

Eduardo Suastegui (esuastegui) I'm planning to give it a go. Brian Meeks (over at G+) has shown some nice results with his promos, though I must say the first time out, if you can break even, you're doing good. If you're of the mindset that you're planting seeds and getting your work in front of as many eyeballs as possible to build a fan base, marketing of that sort will turn into an unavoidable step. I've waited until I have 4 titles released to try to grab readership that then buys my other titles.

Hi Ty - What sort of experience have you had with Bargain Booksy? I also have several titles in a series. JS

Ty Patterson | 4 comments I know authors who do a BargainBooksy ad every month and it keeps their book in the 10-20k ranking.

I have used it twice and it brought me that ranking. I have only one book out currently so with more than one book, you should do better.
