This will be my first cozy mystery, but baking cupcakes is sort of a hobby of mine so I figured if I was going to try it out, this would be a good one to start with :)

The author's descriptions of cupcakes are so good! I get hungry and crave cupcakes every time I read her books lol. And at the end of the books she actually includes the recipes of the cupcakes that are in the books, so that should be a plus for you!
Added my book, sorry about that. I'm having trouble finding what I want to read next so I'm going to take a break away from books for an hour and then come back and see what grabs me.
I love cozy mysteries! I just got into them with the Daphne Martin series, she makes cakes, and now I'm trying to find more. I'm a lousy cook outside a microwave so I won't be trying any recipes though :)

I was expecting her to give me 2-3 suggestions, and she gave me a list of about 20 of her favorite series'!!! I'm still trying to browse them all. Would you like me to send you her list?
I also previously read the Aurora Teagarden series. It was several years ago. But I liked that the MC was a librarian :)
Finished FinderAuthor Connie Suttle
Characters -- Tamblin, Rodrik, Beatris, Melis Norwall
I think I might be able to finish another before the deadline -- at least that's the plan.
She's very good thanks! It turned out her meniscus was not torn. Apparently MRI's are only 99% accurate. They think with some serious physical therapy she should be back to full strength in about 3-4 weeks. She's recovering from the surgery well & is doing much better than if there had been a repair to be done. She's hoping to even be able to drive herself to school Monday -- going to have to see how she's doing.
Thanks for checking!
Alright, I'm finished with Sprinkle With Murder. When does the new genre get posted? I'll wait until then to pick what I'm going to read next.
Sarah wrote: "Alright, I'm finished with Sprinkle With Murder. When does the new genre get posted? I'll wait until then to pick what I'm going to read next."Did you like it? The first one was pretty predictable, but I have a soft spot for Joe and Mel for some reason...
Please set the date read on the book. The mods check that as well. As for the new genre, they post them right after the deadline, so if you check back about 10 minutes after 8, it should be up.

I noticed the date read is 08/17/14. Is this correct? I know you are in a different time zone, so I wanted to be sure. Is it already the 17th where you are?

Yes... It's already 3.30a.m. of the 17th morning for me :)

Okay thanks!
Great job!! As of right now we tied ourselves with last week, which is pretty awesome since it's our highest score :)

Yay! And now we beat last week's score!!
And on a side note, I'm so glad to hear your daughter is doing better than expected! That must have been a huge relief to you all!
I'm reading Red Velvet Revenge and one of the characters is Oz, so that will take care of one of our O's.
I'm reading The Gunslinger by Stephen King. Character: Roland DeschainI'm also reading Ocean Isle by Kevin Pickell
I've got Bridget Jones's Diary that should work for genre. The only characters I've come across so far that would work is Sharon & Mark Darcy
Argh, all these U's. They are not so easy to find...I'm reading Unbound, I can at least cover one of them...
I should be able to cover at least one U this week with Unhinged by A.G. Howard. I'll go ahead and start that one today :)
K, I've updated to here. We are making good progress with those nasty O's & U's so far! Shannon, The Unearthly is not in your challenge shelf. And Bridget Jones needs the date read :)

Fixed it. I usually update the dates in groups since I can't do it from the app.
I finished Red Velvet Revenge and am starting The Olympus Killer for another O. I have several O books that are under 300 pgs and I have one U book that is also about 300 pgs. All my other U books are very long. After I finish this one I'll just see what we need.
finished with Penelope 08/18/14reading Evernight and Stargazer
characters: Bianca Oliver and Lucas Ross

Jacelyn, scratch that, I didn't see your comment about the O's. I'll keep them for later, when we'll really need more O's. I'll try to find other letters, maybe I'll find some U's somewhere.
I am totally blaming this on you Jaclyn. I called it. I finished Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout, and the whole series is short, sweet, and all start with O if we need a good smattering of them. Alien paranormal, the new vampire? Or had the paranormals moved on from vampires to zombies, I'm not really up to what's hip in that area of fiction. The only character that would work for letters is Simon. It's a whole lot of As and Ds.
I have started up A Natural History of Dragons: A Memoir by Lady Trent by Marie Brennan it has a Richard Edgeworth I already see, so there's a letter it could be up for.
I knew you were going to blame me Heather! But I'm keeping my mouth shut about next week! :-x lol I've read the Lux series as well. I'm on the last book, but they get longer as they go, so I've yet to read that one. I think it's close to 500 pgs. And I think zombies are the new vampires. Aliens haven't quite taken over yet! I'll be finished with the Olympus Killer tonight and then figure out the next one. I think we are doing well with those O's and U's right now, so everyone, feel free to read some other letters if you'd like. :)
I knew it would happen, I was just waiting for the day, but it doesn't seem like such a terrible word now that we have it. I finished A Natural History of Dragons: A Memoir by Lady Trent and will move on to The Tropic of Serpents
For letters I could do a full spelling!
H: Daniel Hendemore
U: Urjash Mazhustin
M: Maxwell Oscott
O: Natalie Oscott
R: Relesku
S: Verner Shalney
Turns out Richard is not a character, just an author in the book.
