Red Hot Romance Blog (redhotromanceblog) | 19 comments I am in desperate need of recommendations. I have read almost every popular alpha male book I’ve seen. I am I a rut. I really am looking for those gut wrenching stories that draw you in and won’t let you put the book down. I am not into historical or fantasy. Please help!!

M (lionrock71) | 22 comments You might like Lani Lyn Vale’s various series. The heroines are quirky/feisty and the males are always alpha. Also, even if fantasy/shifters aren’t your thing, Shelly Laurenston/GA Aiken just writes funny/badass/slightly ruthless relationships. I love her books. And of course Kresley Cole (The Professional series) is amazing. Mariana Zapata if you want the slowest slow burn ever. Jen Frederick & Jessica Clare are good, although the billionaires series got old for me after the first few.

Joyce | 77 comments I’ve seen you have read a few Kristen Ashley and Sam Cressent, I would point you in that direction looking at your read shelf.

You might want to check out Jasinda Wilder or a bit darker K Webster

Lauren | 33 comments As a suggestion for new books, I have recently started doing ARC reviews with the Hidden Gems website, hiddengemsromance.com. It has introduced me to books and authors I might not have found otherwise.

Lorena Garcia -- Brittany's Book Blog (goodreadscomlogarcia75) | 58 comments You should try Ella Fields, she's a fairly new author but her books are phenomenal and she has one coming out in a few days called Suddenly Forbidden, if you're okay with cheating in a book.

Red Hot Romance Blog (redhotromanceblog) | 19 comments Thanks guys I will look into them all

I just compared your book list and mine -- have you read the JR Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood books yet? Those are super alpha-male. It starts with Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward , I think.

I haven’t but I will check it out

I haven’t tried the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I’ve heard great things about it but have never been into fantasy. How fantasy is it? I like the series True Blood but I’m not sure if I would be into it. If it’s that good I might have to give in.

If you like True Blood, you will probably like this. I had never read her stuff either -- it's fairly hard core vampire, but super alpha male and strong female characters too. I'd guess worth a try. I always downloaded them from my library onto my kindle -- have only actually bought one.

The self-promotion of this is making me squirm a bit, but, if you're open to a nuanced Alpha Male, try Marrying a SEAL, Marrying a Stranger.

Amber’s reading I just read this series and it's amazing!!!!! You will not be disappointed. It follows a couple over the course of years and all of the people trying to keep them apart. I absolutely loved it.
The Opportunist (Love Me with Lies, #1) by Tarryn Fisher
Dirty Red (Love Me with Lies, #2) by Tarryn Fisher
Thief (Love Me with Lies, #3) by Tarryn Fisher

Also, Beth Flynn's Nine Minutes trilogy is another series that follows the same people. Absolutely amazing. These are my favorite 2 series that I have read.

Nine Minutes (Nine Minutes, #1) by Beth Flynn
Out of Time (Nine Minutes, #2) by Beth Flynn
A Gift of Time (Nine Minutes, #3) by Beth Flynn

Uvi | 14 comments Savage Shay’s books are pretty gut wrenching. Try Evan Arden or Surviving Raine series, both are pretty angsty. Her books are different too. Worth a try for sure.
