Yes - she's definitely not over 100 or under 11.
Elizabeth (Alaska) wrote: "Yes - she's definitely not over 100 or under 11."Yea, thank you.
Question - what should we do for "obvious" authors like this one going forward? Would you like us to get preapproval, put a link in when claiming the book, or just claim the book as usual? I want to make sure you get all the info you need while creating the least amount of work :)
eta: Oh geesh, I see reading back that you asked for preapproval here so you can preload them into the spreadsheet. Never mind, carry on!
Again just checking for combo points, Anja de Jager, I can't find any details of birth year for her but looks like she fits?Sorry, not sure how far I can stretch this task in terms of 'evidence'

Yes, you can have her. (Once started down this path ...)
Thanks, Elizabeth. Should I check each & everytime? I just don't want to clog up the thread if unnecessary...?

Yes, for each of them for whom you don't easily find dates (not in their GR profile, not quickly seen in a google search, not in the google.doc). We log the dates in the database for those who are found/easily found and can easily see them when we're scoring, so you don't need to take time to post about those. But the others without dates we'll need to put in a list for just this task/season.
EDIT: I edited the above several times. If it didn't make sense the first time you read it, you might not have gotten the "right" version.
Can I add Sandhya Menon to the list, on the basis that (1) she's currently alive (2) she looks pretty spritely in the picture and (3) she doesn't look utterly precocious and is over 10? Thanks!

I'd just like to point out that not every living author was born after Muriel Spark. See (and his pic makes him look so young!):

Help--I mixed up two priest authors with the same name: Robert Wild. I discovered this when I looked at the author's photo and brief bio on the back of this book that I started to read:Comrades Stumbling Along: The Friendship of Catherine de Hueck Doherty and Dorothy Day as Revealed Through Their Letters by Robert Wild.
This Robert Wild is not at Marquette and does not have an honorary doctorate, so I won't be claiming the points. (I had asked for Robert Wild in the 20.4 help thread, but it was the wrong priest.)
I think my book's author, Fr. Robert "Bob" Wild lives in Ontario at Madonna House and may be near or over 75 years old. Here is some information he wrote about himself in 2017, I think, saying he has been a priest for 50 years and was ordained in 1967. I have not been able to find his birth year. http://www.madonnahouse.org/the-joy-o...
I think he has a blog, too.
Thank you.

We can extend 20.1 Lifetime, but we'll have to have a birth date or something that will tell us more clearly that he is over 75.

Can I get approval for Rakesh Satyal? I can't find his birth year online, but his Wikipedia page mentions that comedian Rajiv Satyal, born in 1976, is his older brother.

Kind of hard to get to, but scroll down to "Alphabetical list of all Honorary Graduates" and there she is in the "R's"
wrong thread!
I can't find a birth date for Dayo Forster, but she seems to be born in the required timeframe - her first novel was out in 2007 and she has a blog. Check out her website here: http://www.dayoforster.co.uk/ Can I get approval for her?

I would like to request approval for Matthew J. Sullivan, but although I can find indicators that say he's of the correct age, there are no specific dates on his profile (or website, etc.) He has answered questions on his page and joined in 2014.

Yes. I was looking at her earlier today and agree.
Ann B. Ross seems to have been successful in keeping her date of birth private ... I cannot find it on Google or Brooklyn library system. From her photos she is perhaps not in the first flush of youth. However, she is still writing, publishing, and planning a book promotion tour for the coming year:http://www.missjulia.com/tour-schedul...
I'll be claiming the book in 20.10 but could you give a ruling on this one for combo points, please?

Got 'em.
Gail Honeyman's first book was published in 2017 and she says in an interview "my impending 40th birthday was what finally prompted me to make a start on a novel" so she was presumably born in the 1970s:http://www.foyles.co.uk/Author-Gail-H...

Can Sarah A. Denzil be added? I can't find a birthdate, but she is a fairly new author who published a new book in 2017.

Can I get approval for Alexis Okeowo? According to her Wikipedia page, she's currently working as a foreign correspondent, something that might be improbable for someone born outside the task's age range.
