SOLVED. Girl in college visits friend and the entire family is murdered and she is taken by the killer. [s]

I don't remember much but i do remember he abducts her in his motor home and he was obsessed with both her and her friend. She escapes and that is where my memory ends. I thought it was written by Stephen King but apparently it wasn't. This might put it more in the horror genre than a murder mystery. Thanks for your assistance everyone.
