How fast is your connection? Are you thinking of using mobile broadband?

I started my career working in Telecommunications for Ericsson and then (Open Telecommunications) aka Seimens (it's a long story...) and from it's conception the NBN was ill-conceived.IMHO - the future is wireless - not reliant on fixed end point cables. 5th generation wireless technology will eat the NBN for breakfast. The NBN is a classic government inspired white elephant that was obsolete before it got off the drawing board.
I lament the funds being poured into this POS. Noting that it is being done 'off budget,' and not accounted for correctly which is typical of the shonkiness of the whole effing thing.
Australians will be paying for this effing white elephant for some time to come.
I already have mobile broadband but I'm not very happy with it. However, if I can stay with it - maybe the devil you know......
Have just switched to the NBN. While so far the speeds are better than our ADSL, they're still not amazing, in comparison to what I'd guess would be considered 'good' speeds elsewhere.Of course, we're only FTTN here, so our connection is by existing copper. The whole thing was disintegrated by a variety of governments, sadly.
Leonie, - Tyranny of Distance. Replacing the copper is hugely expensive. And the technology is moving on...
