Yeah totally subjective - Skullsworn was just a 3 star for me haha. At least it leads to some good conversation lol.

I feel like yes, it's there, but even the character in the middle of it isn't making this the main focus of her life. She's actually actively tried to get the guys to just leave her alone lol. It was very real and logical/responsible. It wasn't the usual teen drama.

I don't want this to eeeeeeeeeeend! 😭😭😭
I realized tomorrow will be the last day〜 (つД`)I'm finishing out the competition with some YA rereads. Meredith Ann Pierce's Darkangel Trilogy. How about y'all?
Oh, also! Yesterday I tried archery for the first time! My friend has a really pretty wooden bow, and together with the leather bracer and quiver, I was channeling some major Legolas vibes. I was a little wobbly on my first try, but on the second I got a bull's eye! That *thunk!* sound is so satisfying. :)
Just finished my final read for the competition!! Here's my final tally!Books: 117 (113 novels + 14 graphic novels/manga series)
Pages: 67402 (54862 novel pages)
Buddy reads: 22
Books with challenge: 100 (24 bingo + 76 cover)
Total Points: 883.2 points
Thank you all! It's been fun!!!

I want to try archery one day, I think I'll like it. I can totally imagine the satisfying *thunk!* :)
Though I'm not playing regularly now, I grew up playing tennis. My coach used to call me 'mini-Nadal' 'cause I'm left-handed, and tend to play end-of-court canon-ball like a barbarian. Anyway, there's that sound when you hit the ball just right, with enough strength and lift that you know it'll end up flying to the end-of-court line with such a speed that you opponent won't be able to return it, let alone touch it. Now, I'm sure that *thunk!* is something similar :D
I'll try to finish Magic Triumphs before midnight tonight. A great book to end the competition with, I think :)
@Petrik: WOW! Great tally! Well done, TBR Demon!I've modified your spreadsheet so you can keep using it until the end of the year. In the first two lines (where your stats are), the grey cells are 'frozen' and show your rank/pages/books/points at the end of the competition. The blue cells will keep updating.

Thank you, Virginie!!
I don't even know what kind of Excel magic you pulled to do that. You're Excellent. See what I did there? :D
Oh I want to do archery. I remember trying a few times when I was little, but it was like a little bow. I don't think I've ever tried on a real bow as an adult. Friday I'm going hatchet throwing. So while not the same I hope to hear a similar satisfying thunk, and not screams of pain. This is going to be such a bad idea. I'm also finishing off my year with Magic Triumphs. I'm about 70% through so pretty sure I can finish it today. Will post stats tonight from my laptop.
Updated my final points for The Tower of the Swallow and SilverthornOctober tally:

You guys might be in last place, but you're actually in 3rd for pages read... and pages will be more important, next year :) ... just like Blood Eagles are in 3rd place for points but 1st for pages... all out of whack...
@iain - that's interesting. I'll totally take 3rd in pages lol.
@Virginie - I'll take that too haha.

I'm working on that in the solo competition as well ;D
6624 comments and counting... only 317 behind Scott now... been waiting to mention the shark in the waters ;)
3000 comments ago, Niki was 1000 comments ahead of me, I think...
@Niki: Jaghut is last place in pages and 2nd in points... for the first 3-4 months of the competition, House of Chains was way behind on pages and 1st in points most of the time... page rankings have shifted more than point rankings all year, I think...

Team Avatar-with-hood+Excel-wizard for the win! :p
I have no new books to add. I haven't been reading much these last several days. I've been catching up on tv shows, clearing out my backlogged dvr.
Time to reveal I was secretly a Tome Raider all along, and jump to first place :D
#TeamPillowFightClub lives again!!! (I'd forgotten about our Sleeper Cell)

I'm confused why Goodreads only has me reading 153 books for the year but my spreadsheet shows 162. Unless I forgot to include a few short stories on my Goodreads.
Edit: Nevermind. I realized my issue. I don't include my dnf books on my Goodreads book count but I do for the team challenge. Carry on.
It would have kept me up several hours with my tired little brain trying to solve the mystery haha.Wonderful job, Diana :)

20. Collected Sonnets of Shakespeare from sometime in March? Did I remember to PM you about it then?
@all...I think I almost burned my eyes out 😂😂😂 this month. My eyes are soooo sandy and salty and scratchy you will NOT believe...Harry Potter tho' was very quick on reread and the two biggest ones were carryovers...
Also my demon invader houseplant learned to CLIMB. I found this so heartening in these days...I thought he will strangle himself in the enclosed spaces after forcing thru the walls...I was sad...how can green things grow in concrete, I felt....now I need to take a picture.
Bcuz apparently they can!

Awesome job Zaara! :) You really read ALL THE THINGS :DStill I'm not sure we're allowed to count incomplete books (except DNF's)...
Great job, all@Fam! Also 💪👯👏 specially for Petrik and the way he totally DEVOURED Malazan...I think that, with this, he has definitely ASCENDED to Bot status on the Hitchcock Scale.
@Petrik...for you...
(view spoiler)
Hope you like it...pls don't get offemded or anything bcuz it's immature...I really love Disney.
It is an (evil) genie (Jafar from Aladdin) but I chose him bcuz 1. he looks like a demon AND 2. he is confined to a sleek metal casing, just like A BOT....😁 3. he "ascended" far into the sky with phenomenal cosmic POWAAAAAARR
+ yes, I do think in such weird, lateral, amalgamative ways...just like Sha, but not exactly like her...I am babbling....
Congrats!
Also...I now sing swweetly for thee, O Petrik...like the veriest nightingale am I.
*cartoon PARROT voice*
Jafaaaar, Jafaaaaaarrr....
He's Da Maaaaaaaan...
If he can't do it...
No one can...

Perfect balance of hands on and hands off captaincy...😁😁😁 why noooo that is NOT a terrible fluffer pun...I am totally innocent.
All the best with next year's draft, you!
You get first pick, yes?
Play hard.
Aaaaand I just realised this one also TOTALLY sounded like a comdom advert...but this time the effect was unintentional and therefore #awkward
