Thank you, Diana! And welcome back! I hope to love WoT though. I have two hardcover of Memory of Light in my shelves... xD

Bea wrote: "Yeah, I know. I'll probably check out the TV-adaptation, for me it can only be better than the books haha."That's looking at the bright side! :-) In all seriousness though, it's totally possible. I've had a couple of instances where I liked the show characters better than their book counterparts because the actors were able to imbue them with a warmth that I felt the book characters lacked.
Petrik wrote: "You got that right my friend. Wheel of Time is next. It won't be soon though. I'm thinking a 5 or 6 months break from massive series first so definitely my next year priority! xDHopefully you and everyone will be there to support me! "
I hope you enjoy WoT more than I did. Book 4 was as far as I managed to go.
Niki Hawkes wrote: "Petrik, it's going to amuse me greatly to watch you read WoT. Whether you love it or hate it haha."I was thinking that too. :D

I am still struggling with grimdarks and epic fantasy atm. I might stick mostly with a few romances and UF for a couple of months, with the exception of the Malazan books I am reading with Angela.

Oooh, how was it? I'm planning to read it soon as well. Strange the Dreamer is the only YA book I read during my adult reading phase that I thought was really great (at least so far).

Yeah me too. This is why I'm reading all other genre that's non-epic fantasy or grimdark right now. We're still up for Kharkanas right?

I canceled all buddy reads that aren't related to the Malazan world, but I am keeping the Malazan ones in the schedule. :)

Are you planning to read both Forge of Darkness and Fall of Light in December?
I'll probably decide spontaneously if I'll join you because Kharkanas is extremely bleak and even denser than BotF (yep, that's possible ;) ) and I'm not sure if I'll be up for utter bleakness in December.

Yup! I'll binge read that one and then maybe call it a year xD

That's the plan. Let's see how it will go. :)

Btw Miche. I may have to change my plan. I'll see how it goes later on. But I might move Kharkanas to January. I'm having quite a rough time in life right now and I don't think reading Malazan is really a good decision... Especially because everyone said it's even darker than bleaker than BotF. Let's hope my life gets better so I'll be in the mood to read something dense and bleak. :')

Oh no! That doesn't sound good :(
Yeah, it's definitely not an uplifting read, stick to something lighter and more fun if you're going through a hard time.
Wishing you all the best!

Thank you, Bea! Yeah it's been pretty rough financially and my dad being sick. I hope things get better, if it does I'll read through Kharkanas, if not.. yeah I'll leave it for later.

I feel ya, Petrik. Not a bad idea to focus on happier books until things settle. I had to do that too earlier in the year - it really makes a difference. Hoping things get better for you <3

Oh, I'm sorry to hear you're having a tough time, Petrik. I hope your dad gets better soon!In the meantime, keep the light, fun and easy reads going! I'll be sure to add all of them to my TBR hahaha :p

Yeah, thank you, Virginie!
I'm thinking of reading Sir Thomas the Hesitant the day after tomorrow. What do you think about that one? I saw you gave it 5 stars!
Ooooh, nice! I really liked the book and found it hilarious. It reminded me A LOT of the comical French TV-show Kaamelot which I absolutely love. Kept saying "Nonsense! You'll be fine!" for days after reading it ;)I'll be honest though: I probably would have given the book 4 stars (and not five) if I didn't know the author. Not because I'm biased, but because it had more emotional impact knowing a little of the author's life, his inspirations, etc.
